Credit Line Increases
This is very odd, but according to the Chatbot on the website:
Q. When requesting a credit limit increase, is the credit inquiry a hard or soft credit inquiry?
A. Unfortunately, until we process the request, there isn't a way for us to know if a credit line increase request will be a soft or hard hit on your credit report. For this reason, we have to receive your permission to pull a copy of your credit report before we process the increase request. If you process the request online, you will see a message stating "By submitting this form, you authorize Citibank, N.A. to obtain your credit report."

To request an increase online:
In order to request an increase, you will need to go to your “Credit Home” page, and find “Available Credit” at the top of the page. Then, click on the link that says “Request Increase” to begin the process.

Citi Sears Cards (2014 - 2023)

Does anyone know if the Citi Sears Mastercard can be converted to the Citi Double Cash Card?

I cannot confirm this, because I do not have a Sears card. However, some time in 2013, Citi separated as much as possible from the Sears card. Payments could not be processed in branch, card could not be linked to online banking, and activity didn't show. Payments had to be processed at Sears.

The Sears card is not listed on Citi's card offerings. I would be absolutely shocked if you could PC it to the Double Cash card.

Citi - Two Sears cards?

guys

can someone identify the attached cards for me? A family member went to the sears store and was offered a $10 gift card in return for opening a new sears card. The blue card seems to have the same issuing bank, Citibank but I'm wondering why they signed him up for a new card even after he presented the sears mastercard to use

Thx

Then I got another for thru 12/31 on the 10X's so I'm going to max it out. I would recommend this card and watch for emails.

Follow up I spent $550+ in Sept. I got 8,848 TYP's.
So with Oct a little over $500 I got 6K+ TYP's.

All together I guessing ~ 30,000 TYP's. I could have easily gotten over 50k if I would have started in Aug and maxed out in Sept + Oct. All I ever bought was gas, groceries and dining out. I used to put at least $500 dining out on my Forward card when it was 5X's.

I'm hoping for more emails.

I'm sure others who have this card must be getting these emails, so don't delete them and also check your spam folder.

In my case the link didn't work so I SM'd them with the #'s that showed up on the link url. Frustrating but upside is I have written confirmation. Follow up I used a different browser and it worked so no more emails to them.

In late Dec. I got email 10X's for 1/1/2017-3/31/2017. So another 3 month's of 11X's TYP's. Now if they do the 5X's for a holiday I can stack it to 16X's again.

Isn't anybody else getting this offer? The points have been rolling in, just got them for 12/2016 last week. Maybe they are doing this because I haven't used Forward card since the change?

Citi Sears Card

I have had a Sears credit card since 2005. The only reason I got it was because I was early in the game in establishing credit, I only had one crappy secured credit card to my name with an annual fee that I was eager to displace, and when I went to buy clothes at Sears in person one day, I was offered the card with a $30 statement credit so I just said sure.

12 years later it's a really lousy card and I would love to get a product change. I inquired about this to Citi in March and they said no.

I did some searching on here and there doesn't appear to be anything recent about this, and was wondering if anyone had any further insight or news about this. I've read things like how the line of credit doesn't come from Citibank and Citi just manages the card. One thing I've noticed is that you can't even access the account with Citi's regular website or on the Citi app (you need to go to a special website just for the Sears card), I guess demonstrating just how little Citi wants to do with the card anymore.

My questions are these:

1) Has anyone had any success with a product change?

2) Can you convert Shop Your Way points to Thank You points, or does that only work in one direction (TY to SYW)? I don't plan on setting foot in Sears again.

3) How long of an inactivity period is it before Citi/Sears will just cancel the card on you? I'm not particularly motivated to even make a token purchase to keep it going just because it's such a terrible card. But I don't want to go out of my way to cancel it either since there's no downside to having it and I don't want to negatively impact my credit score.

I switched my earnings to TYPs in early 2017,
the first offer (April -May 2017) was for 100 bonus TYPs per $1 up to 2500 TYPs.
Oct-Dec 2017 was 10X on $300 -$900 up to 9000 TYPs per month.
March-April 2018 $500 = 5000 bonus TYPs
April - June 2018 10X on $500-$1500 up to 15000 TYPs per month.

Best TYP card I have.

The card? Maybe at Sears or the Sears website. I've had mine for 10 years.

Once you get it change the earnings from Shop Your Way to Thank You Points
