So until this year, the Comfort Suites I often stay at didn't know abou the elite program. Now they do.

I'm Elite Diamond. After many stays in the past couple months where I neither got a USA Today at my door (like I did last fall) or found one in the lobby no matter how early I went there, I complained to the desk clerk, and he said they get too few and so they only go to Choice Priveleges members. I said I am a member, and then he said, well, actually they don't even get enough for all members always, and so they give priority to Diamond, etc. I then said I am Diamond! He then looked at my reservation and said, no, it says here you're AA. I said what??? And he continued to give my American Airlines frequenty flyer number!

The dolts! They don't have the ability to see that I'm an Elite Diamond simply because I choose to earn AA miles on my single-night stays, and they're denying me a Choice benefit (free newspaper) because they're giving priority to those people who chose to earn points!!!

I couldn't believe it, and then I checked by reservation confirmation printout from the web, and indeed, even though I'm logged in when I view it, as soon as I go to the page that is showing my specific reservation, the fact that I have a Choice Priveleges number disappears (if I have chosen to earn miles on that stay)! So there's no information in a miles-earning reservation that I'm a Choice member, let alone that I'm Daimond Elite!
