I requested a status match with a screen shot of my IHG Platinum status, and was matched to Platinum, and very quickly, too. I got an answer within 10 hours, and I checked on the website and I was listed as Platinum within 24 hours.

Hadn't thought about it but figured why not so I sent off an email with my IHG Platinum status and it shows over 250k points so maybe they will take that into consideration. Thanks for the heads up, nothing really more beneficial other than status and the up from 10% to 25 % points bonus it seems. oh and luggage tags LOL do they even send those to you?

The 25% in points, and the ability to book 75 days out are really useful. Other benefits-not so much. Way, way too early to get luggage tags yet. Just got a really good deal with a flex rewards point deal. All rooms were the same 8000 points, so I got a suite with 2 queen beds, a microwave, fridge, and hot breakfast, good reviews, and a gym, for three people for the same price as a single room.

Nice find! I was kidding about luggage tags but the extra points bonus would be nice. Im keeping my fingers crossed. We pretty much stay at this property in orlando when we go so now I'd have even more incentive to book exclusively here.
I looked at my corp rate and its pretty much $48 for every weekend this summer while they have rooms at that rate, and its a halfway decent property so I'll take it! granted the benefits don' mean much here but for example over the new years i stayed at a comfort inn in orlando that gave me 4pm checkout without even asking so that was nice. I could bump up hotels if I thought they would do this more. I'll advise as soon as I hear back.

Choice Status Match
 

In reference to the free status match Choice has been promoting lately, does anyone know how long this takes normally once you email them your info?

I sent an email requesting a status match with a screen shot of my IHG Platinum status, and was matched to Platinum. I received an answer within 12 hours, and I checked on the website and I was listed as Platinum within 24 hours.

I was also just matched from IHG Platinum to Choice Platinum with a screenshot from my IHG account. Good until the end of the year. I would have waited until summer so it would be good through next year, but I didn't that extended award booking window for stays in Scandinavia this summer.

On a side note, I really wish the Choice credit card would give platinum status. Both the IHG and Club Carlson give a higher level status. It seems like credit card holders should have an extended booking window for those international stays.

I sent an email with screen shot of my IHG Platinum status, and also BW Diamond status, and Hilton Gold status.

Took 3 weeks before they responded to say they cannot read the screen shot, and asked me to provide the screen shot in jpeg files. I did, provided jpeg file attachments.

Then they came back to say they need proof of the dates. I told them forget it, I've never had so much trouble for status matching. The Choice status doesn't provide much and they are trying to be gate dragons.

Does Choice ever roll out status match offers that aren't restricted to "once per lifetime"?

The only real advantage...
 

...is how far out you can book rewards rooms...other than that Choice status is a joke that will rarely be recognized at any property.
I've been Plat for 3 or 4 years and there is ZERO difference in treatment from someone who applied yesterday.

I've had eight stays since Elite Welcome Gifts began, and I've yet to see a single extra point in my account despite picking points on every one of my check-ins. Properties have been very good about offering the welcome gift for the most part, but whatever tool is supposed to post the points appears to not be working.
