Getting into Beijing around 8:00 PM. Any recommendations for duck restaurants around Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel that would be open after 10PM?

I'm not really a fan of Fat Duck any more, but it certainly fits the bill in your case (in the hotel, and open late). I used to live in Fuli; there honestly aren't any other duck joints in the neighborhood.
I was originally booked at the Fairmont, they recommended Hua Jia Yi Yuan (Dongcheng, Beixinqiao, No. 235 Dongzhimen Inner St). Any experience with them, or should I just stick with Fat Duck? |

If you spring for a driver pick-up at the airport, you could employ another option: eat your duck dinner on the way to the hotel and check-in after that. Driver can keep your luggage in trunk of car. With this strategy, you could go to Dadong (Tuanjiehu location) or Duck de Chine which would be on the way to the Ren. Both of these places should take reservations for as late as 21:00, though at that time you can probably just walk-in at Dadong.

I'm somewhat cross-posting, but am adding to my original question (and some of the info pertinent to me on this thread is 2+ years old). I'll be at the Hilton Wangfuing.
I'm a solo traveler, and from what I've read, Duck de Chine does not offer 1/2 ducks. Can anyone confirm? That leads me to Da Dong. Da Dong in Jinbaohui is in a shopping center so is there less "atmosphere?" Is there anywhere else I should consider within a 10 minute walk that serves 1/2 duck? I'm looking for crispy over greasy/fatty (and yes, I do know the consistency of duck). I've ruled out Made in China. Thanks |

Quanjude also does half duck portions, but it's more oily than Da Dong (I actually much prefer it to Da Dong).
I've had several good meals at the Hilton Wangfujing Chinese restaurant, but I've never had their duck, so can't comment. I seem to recall (but worth checking) if they do half portions too. tb |
Here's an odd Peking Duck question ---
I've got a brief visit to Beijing with my family later this month. Our time is short, and my wife and daughters want to do some knock-off shopping. They also want to eat some duck. I think the Silk Market is open until 9 pm. On the weekend, what time would be "too late" to eat duck in the Chaoyang area? And where would you go for an "efficient" (yet tasty) duck meal in that neighborhood? Alternatively, is there any quality take-out or delivery duck in Chaoyang -- like can I get it delivered to our hotel? Thanks. |

Echo md's comments re: Chaoyang, but I would guess most visitors mean SLT or Lidu.
In SLT in Taikooli, I actually really rate the duck at JingYaaTang in the Opposite House. The place looks more style than substance, and the dishes are a little hit and miss, but some of them, including the duck, are excellent. tb |
I'll be at the Hilton Wangfujing and Four Seasons later this month. Anyone great recommendations for Peeking Duck near one of those properties?
thanks! |

Just upthread I posted I'll be at the Hilton. There were some specific responses.

The "Chaoyang area" is Beijing's largest district, and comprises nearly half of the city inside 4th Ring, so a bit more specificity would be useful.
