No - the news source that you quoted is inaccurate.
The author of the article has mis-interpreted the text in section 9a of the draft executive order, which refers to the suspension of the "Visa Interview Waiver Program" - this enables certain individuals applying for a visa renewal to not need to appear in person for an interview at a US consulate/embassy. This change proposed by the executive order does not affect the "Visa Waiver Program", of which ESTA is a component. |
