Yet another mistreated disabled traveller

http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/...aggressive-in/

Transportation Security Administration inspectors forced a wounded Marine who lost both of his legs in an IED blast and who was in a wheelchair to remove his prosthetic legs at one point, and at another point to stand painfully on his legs while his wheelchair was examined, according to a complaint a congressman has registered with the TSA.
...

I see that the 4 hours of special training for someone paid off handsomely for this poor Marine.

We need to see the pictures of the screening that are mentioned in the article.

I generally resist making comparisons to 1930s Deutschland, but didn't they also (like the Blueshirts) tend to pick on the disabled and genetically "inferior."

This disgraceful behavior by the TSA will continue until the TSA is overhauled from top to bottom, despite the BS we hear from Pistole et al. These TSA clerks must be held accountable for their actions when screening passengers in the most public way possible.

Don't you love reading articles like that on mainstream media pages, and then looking at page after page of "It's bush's fault!" and "No, it's obama's fault!" and "You're a commie!" and "You're a libtard!" comments that completely lose sight of the actual problem? I find it hysterical to read the politicrap that gets posted after one of these articles, not to mention the inevitable comments like, "Well, if we let our guard down, The Terrorists will find a way to use that against us! It's for our safety!"

Doesn't matter whether he's a vet, doesn't matter whether he's handicapped, doesn't even matter whether he's an American. What matters is that he's a human being, and no human being should have to be searched in such an invasive manner by government thugs to exercise his right to travel.

My sentiments exactly.

I agree 100%. It's time for this to stop. The cost of these assaults on American's and their rights is much too great.

The inhumane treatment of Americans by the bottom of the barrel TSA employees is beyond belief.

No surprise that this was at PHX, probably T2. Those checkpoint workers seem to be under orders to challenge anyone with physical limitations.

I'm quite sure that at PHX, if you ask for a PSS, the TSO you are talking to will tell you that he/she is a PSS.

Exactly.

The problem is that there is an endemic problem in TSA of believing that humiliation and intimidation equates to "security".

I couldn't agree more ^^^

Yes, it's been stated over and over, if they can get us to
focus on the silly, endless Right-vs-left partisan gridlock-fracas, we'll ignore the actual problem at hand. Public servants treating people like this, just because they want to be passengers on a plane, is simply unacceptable.

It's called Command Presence and TSA workers are trained[sic] to use it.

They need more time because of TSA policies and abuse of people with all manner of disabilities.

The entire PHX TSA checkpoint staff along with the FSD, AFSD, TSM for the airport should be fired for cause. Sending Pistole a pink slip wouldn't hurt anything either.
