Take a stand and join the TSA
 

I am just wondering for all those that incessantly complain about how the TSA is hiring ... umm... less than stellar recruits:

Why don't you quit your current job (if you have one) and join TSA?

Why not encourage your children (if any) to do so?

What about your friends and family?

That way you and those like-minded as you (who have joined the TSA) can change the Agency from within?

Is it because the pay is too low? Or maybe the benefits not good enough? Certainly there won't be any concerns about YOU (or the like-minded) violating anyone's rights because you will just refuse to engage in any such activity.

So, what IS stopping you?

Are you serious? DHS as a whole is known for being an incredibly dysfunctional organization to work for. Have you ever been in a position where you tried to change a government bureaucracy from within? It doesn't work, unless you are a top level political appointee.

I'm sure there are many intelligent people working in TSA, but the system is stacked against them. Those who suggest logical improvements aren't exactly rewarded. Eventually they either get so worn down they go along or they just quit.

What other job can one get where violating the Constitution is in the job description? And let's no forget the ultimate perk--the rubdowns.

But your comments presume that a person has some obligation to spring into some sort of action after expressing his or her opinion on a subject.

Please cite the rule or statute or constitutional provision that provides such a mandate.

Did the city bus driver hit you on the way in to work this morning? What's stopping YOU from becoming a bus driver? Spring into action and become a bus driver!

Is your constitutional representative corrupt? Why are you complaining, run for office! I don't see YOUR name in the ballot box!

Did your surgeon botch your surgery? I didn't see YOU become a surgeon. In fact, I didn't see you apply to med school.

which is why TSA supporters and employees are so sensitive on this point and insist until they are blue in the face that they have been given cover on this point by the courts. Despite the black and white language prohibiting their conduct, they prefer the end-runs around it performed by SCOTUS

I swore an oath to protect the Constitution from all enemies -- foreign & domestic...

The TSA and their practices are a domestic enemy to the U.S. Constitution - thus I am prohibited to work for such an agency. I must resist them every way legally possible (and try to have some fun in doing it - as it pisses them off even more).

Actually the problem is not that TSOs are doing a bad job. The problem is that they are doing the job at all. It's not the positions at the bottom that need to be replaced. It's the ones at the top. Starting with Obama and working your way down to Pistole. It would be easy enough to make patdowns, even the slightest genital contact, and nudoscope use punishable by summary firing and jail time with 1 year mandatory minimums. TSOs could go back to x-raying luggage and standing next to the WTMDs with a bored expression on their faces. It would no longer be such an enticing profession to pedophiles and other sexual deviants. People who were actually turned off by the idea of being sex workers might even consider applying.

I actually considered the idea of infiltrating/joining the TSA as a spy in order to publish their SOP, but I was told that touching other men's genitals repeatedly and vigorously is an absolute requirement even to get through the training period. I'm not really into the whole bromance thing.

Some of us in the private sector own businesses that create real wealth and use that wealth to hire employees and grow.

Government jobs like TSA don't create wealth, they redistribute wealth, collected from taxpayers such as myself (and others who post here) to create "make-work" programs such as the TSA.

TSA is not an essential govt service; airports & airlines should be able to fund security, providing it is not overly regulated by the government. Government regulation of business by the plethora of 3 letter agencies places an unnecessary financial burden on many companies.

I'd prefer to keep my role as a private sector business owner instead of taking make-work wages from the cookie jar.

So, if I am to do my part in opposing child sexual molestation and rape, I must apply for a coaching job at Penn State? What kind of reasoning is that?
