It seems that every tsa pizza-box photo posted on the interwebs was provided courtesy of the same Michelle Basch from the same radio station. I smell publicity stunt.
Besides the careful editing to avoid showing the pizza place's name, this must be the only pizza box ever that doesn't have an easily visible telephone number. |
The phone # on the pizza box says it's out of service.

Well, here's a Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications pizza box for starters...
Were you hoping to stoke your x-ray fetish while getting government benefits? :p |
As a sidenote, if TSA truly wanted to capitalize in their pursuit of the "pizza & x-ray vision" angle...they'd have a booth at this year's Comic-Con.

I know this is a bit persnicketty, but the pizza box displays "Washington Reagan National Airport," even though the correct title for DCA is "Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport." Wouldn't one expect a tight operation not to miss these kinds of details?

USA Today blogger, Ben Mutzabaugh, has picked up on this:
Order a pizza, become an airport security screener |

This story (via WaPo) made it onto Fark.com.
If the TSA apologists think the bashing of the TSA here is absurd, you might want to read the comments on Fark to see what non-frequent fliers think of the TSA. But even the comments in the Washington Post article are pretty funny: Recruiting via a pizza box. How appropriate since the security measures performed by TSA are both cheesy and loaded with fat. |
