Dhs/tsa employee pool
Proof that DHS/TSA knows where to find it's employee pool.

Speaks volumes as to how they are dragging the bottom of the barrel to find people to work for them - and to the quality of the individuals they will probably attract.
When the jobs outlook improves and people can find jobs elsewhere, those that go to the TSA will probably get even worse. |
Which Pizza Company Does This???
I wonder if we can find out which pizza company is buying the TSA advertising so we can inform them how we feel about it and what impact it might have on our pizza buying preferences in the future?
Actually -- I wonder if the target audience is the people buying the pizza or the people making & delivering the pizza? |
Wow:td:
I wonder if the people who are hired for the nude-o-scope hired the meat lovers pizza... How disgusting! If I had a pizza delivered with that message, I'd return it! |

From the title, I thought they were being taught to swim. :p
Maybe there should be a campaign on other fast food packaging with photos: Have you seen -------? He is missing and may have become a TSO....:o please call our hotline at # 332-336-3562 (dead end job) :D |
"You can't professionalize until you Federalize..."
|
I think this is a covert operation to fight obesity. As soon as the pizza shows up with the DHS logo on it, you loose your appetite. :p
|
It's a joint deal, they get free advertising if they allow one of the new scanners be used by the pizza place to cook the pizza as it passes through the belt.

(Speaking of pools, I did see a real Help Wanted ad for FAs with the job Requirement of "Strong Swimming Skills". Airline: Quantas. Hmmmmmmm. . . :D ) |

Find out which TSA manager has shares in the pizza company.
One does have to wonder why they are recruiting people eating one particular type of fast food, though. Does this mean that people who eat a healthy diet are not suitable as TSA employees? |

When TSA HQ in particular stood up, it was a "who's who" of malcontents and low achievers - people who were never going any higher in their existing organization, and saw this as their last best hope for a promotion. |

Given that DHS and TSA HQ staffs were initially populated with the bottom of the barrel, the above statement is laughable.

I would suggest that TSA would soon start advertising at McDonalds and in Wal Mart restrooms, but I doubt they would be allowed to since those places probably have a hard enough time keeping people in McJobs without facing additional competition. |
It seems that every tsa pizza-box photo posted on the interwebs was provided courtesy of the same Michelle Basch from the same radio station. I smell publicity stunt.
Besides the careful editing to avoid showing the pizza place's name, this must be the only pizza box ever that doesn't have an easily visible telephone number. |
The phone # on the pizza box says it's out of service.

Well, here's a Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications pizza box for starters...
Were you hoping to stoke your x-ray fetish while getting government benefits? :p |
As a sidenote, if TSA truly wanted to capitalize in their pursuit of the "pizza & x-ray vision" angle...they'd have a booth at this year's Comic-Con.

I know this is a bit persnicketty, but the pizza box displays "Washington Reagan National Airport," even though the correct title for DCA is "Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport." Wouldn't one expect a tight operation not to miss these kinds of details?

USA Today blogger, Ben Mutzabaugh, has picked up on this:
Order a pizza, become an airport security screener |

This story (via WaPo) made it onto Fark.com.
If the TSA apologists think the bashing of the TSA here is absurd, you might want to read the comments on Fark to see what non-frequent fliers think of the TSA. But even the comments in the Washington Post article are pretty funny: Recruiting via a pizza box. How appropriate since the security measures performed by TSA are both cheesy and loaded with fat. |
You all saw the pizza recruitment strategy, right?
I didn't see a thread devoted to the new campaign by the TSA to recruit employees. Apparently, pizza delivery customers are the target pool (along with, I suppose, pizza parlor workers who will see the ad time and again)
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/fed..._to_recru.html I think some of you, if you haven't read the advert, will enjoy the appeal to persons wanting a job where they get automatic "x-ray vision." I apologize if this has already been posted and discussed, in which case hopefully a mod will close this thread. |

two more excellent comments from the Post:
They should advertise on McDonald's Happy Meals since the behavior of the TSA agents at National Airport resembles a playground at an elementary school rather than serious professionals concerned about national security. As other commenters have already noted: The pizza box advertisement does seem to be the ideal demographic for TSA employees. The bottom of the Federal Ladder for sure......I'm sure they were meeting resistance on college campuses to have a career in telling people to throw away their shampoo. |

Of course, what I just said was my own opinion. Here: I'll help you get started doing your own fact-checking. |
