Thanks for the heads up on this, I had no idea this was a 'perk' of the card.

I was just approved for the CSP and Freedom in March. How long do you all recommend I wait before I app for one of the biz cards? I was going to wait 6 months, but I've considered 3 months as well. I'd like to here anecdotal evidence of what Chase is like to deal with in this situation.

There are no set rules with Chase like there are with Citi. If you can afford a hard pull, apply at 3 months. If not, apply at 6 months.

Got the Ink Plus in Feb. How quickly can I kill it?

Want to move over to Freedom.

Simple question that I can't find (searched this thread, forum, and manufactured spending forum, etc.)...

If I make a purchase at at&t.com (accessories, etc.), it DOES count for Ink bonus points. Yes?

There are no shopping portals that will add any extra miles (I checked AA + UA). Correct?

Lastly, does charging my AT&T Uverse bill to Ink count for bonus points?

I believe this post from last year answers my questions, but I just wanted to reconfirm before we switch our Uverse billing and buy the misc thing at at&t.com

Small datapoint..confirmed with Chase that my AT&T Uverse (internet + cable) counts as a 5X category..so it looks like pretty much any charge in these categories qualify.

Thanks :)

Is it possible to downgrade an Ink Plus to an Ink Cash, but link it to a CSP such that you still get UR points (like what is done with the Freedom card)?

No, since Ink Cash is a cashback card, not a UR points card. You can however downgrade to the Ink Classic and earn UR points, which you can pool with other UR cards.

Isn't this the same idea with a Freedom card though? Those are also cash back but I heard if you link it to a UR card you can actually earn UR points instead?

Nope. The Freedom card might be marketed as a cash back card but you are actually earning UR points, which can be converted to cash back at $0.01 cpp. Ink Cash is truly a cash back card, not UR points. Ink Classic earns UR points.

What you may be confusing this with is the fact that you need a "premium" UR card (CSP, Ink Bold, Ink Plus, JPM Select or JPM Palladium) in order to transfer those UR points to travel partners. You don't actually "link" the cards per se, but you transfer the points to the premium UR card and then transfer them out to travel partners.

Ahhhh I got it. Thanks for the detailed response!

I was approved for the IP but got denied for the IB, both were for the same business with 0 revenue. I'm considering calling recon for the IB, but for a new business with 0 revenue, what line of answers would I give them to justify the IB? Any pointers?

What credit line were you approved for on the Ink Plus?

$5k. When I had called them when I was inquiring about the status of the IB, and got denied, I asked them if I could move some of my personal credit for the IB, the rep said no.

I said I wanted an Ink Plus in order to segregate my reimbursable business expenses. I had the Ink Bold for over 6 months when I applied though.

vodkashine Jul 10, 2013 4:47 pm

I'm thinking of applying for the Ink Plus 91 days after my 1st Ink Bold.
I expect to get "pending" and I will call recon right away and suggesting they take some CL from my personal cards to fund this new card and the reason I want the Plus versus the Bold is so I can pay over time some purchases.
What are my chances for success? I think better then 75% that I get it but I wonder what others experiences are for getting both cards.

mojo2121 Jul 10, 2013 8:29 pm

I have a question regarding the bonus categories for the ink card. I noticed they say radio subscriptions also give 5X points. Does this include Internet radio options like Slacker and Mog? Also - are water and electric utilities also included in the "other utilities" bonus? Thanks!

Seeking advice: apply for 4 Ink cards for one company?

My wife and I own an LLC. I got the Ink Plus using the EIN of the LLC and my personal info. I plan to get an Ink Bold in a month also. Can she apply for another set using her personal info and the same EIN and company info?

Want to move over to Freedom.

It's usually advisable to wait at least six months after getting a cc before you kill it. But you can get a Freedom card without cancelling your ink plus. I don't think there is any benefit to canceling way before your annual fee is due. If I were you I'd get the freedom card right away, then cancel the ink plus in January.

Does anyone know if Internet hosting companies (not ISPs) like Network Solutions etc are included in the 5% category?

michael_v Feb 9, 2015 11:17 am

Rumor posted on another board that, through March 1st, there is a 60k offer in branch with annual fee waived the first year.

Hi,

My 24 month "wait for the sign up" bonus period will be over soon.
Can I downgrade from the Ink Plus to the Ink Cash and then reapply for the Plus a couple month later?
