Any Speculation on Chase Freedom Categories for Q1 2019?

My guess is grocery stores.

Grocery stores and Chase Pay.

Though, I'm not sure Chase follows Discover as closely as they have in the past.

I see what you did there. 2 pesos is worth 5x more than 2 cents. Bonus! ^

Yeah, I just want something different than Discover's Q1 groceries as one card is enough for that option. I think Discover has also been making changes (well, they already published the 2019 calendar - maybe Chase will intentionally choose different categories). I actually missed department stores from Discover as I didn't need to use my Chase as much since we already had Chase Pay, and I didn't get the targeted 5% AmEx offer.

Of course I would love to have me some more Chase Pay, the Samsung Pay link is awesome. Sorry Apple folks.

If Chase wants to be cheap, gas might be the category as I assume people probably drive the least in the first quarter.

Nice to know I am not the only one sick of them pushing lame CHASEPAY. Not interested in grocery stores either. I am hoping they bring back the Transit category which included (Uber, Lyft, Taxis, Trains, etc). And I hate that they wait until the last minute to announce, what is the big dang secret...they really need to take a cue from Discover.

If Chase Pay wasn't usable literally just Starbucks, Best Buy, Shell and Walmart, I'd use it more often. Not to mention the one time at Best Buy where things broke so badly when I attempted to use it that I needed to file a chargeback.

Anyway, there definitely needs to be more done on Chase's end to encourage adoption and to fix the bugs.

Walmart doesn't even allow for in-store Chase Pay payments, which is stunning. Chase really needs to expand the network for Chase Pay or allow people to pay with any mobile wallet like they did one or two quarters ago.

For those with Samsung phones, thankfully, it's not just Starbucks, Best Buy, Shell, and Walmart.

I'm pretty sure I was able to use it at Walmart in-person before. You have to do it via the Walmart app, though, and I think it might be Android only.
