No. Call Staples.

This will commonly show on the checkout screen but your e-mailed receipt or the actual charge should be without tax.

Another data point for UR mall not giving points on Staples gift card purchases. I purchased some e-gift cards on 8/5 and they haven't posted to UR mall either. I was able to get them in early July without issue.

I love their cards and plan to get more of them. Are they going to care if I rack up $3,000/month in staples gift cards? Will they close my account or deny me future credit?

Based on what other flyertalkers have reported so far, I don't think $3,000/month in gift cards will get you shut down, as long as you have other non-bonused spend on the card.

When VRs were going strong, I would buy $4k once a month on my IB and IP cards, plus 2K on my IC. Why? B/c chase has capped the 5X bonus on IB & IP at 50k spend/year. 50K divided by 12 months is about 4K/month. IC the cap is 25 K or 2K/ month. I was never shut down, even with minimal non 5X spend. That's my experience. YMMV.

Big difference? Home Depot gift cards at Staples stores and ones sold at staples.com

Language on Home Depot gift cards sold at Staples brick and mortar stores says that Home Depot gift card "...may not be used...for purchases where payment is made anywhere other than a retail store location (e.g. at a customer's home, phone sales, or online purchases)." But terms and conditions language on Home Depot regular and e-gift cards sold on staples.com says "Valid toward purchase of merchandise/services at any The Home Depot store in the U.S. ... and online at homedepot.com".
Anybody have experience with this? Is it literally true that the Home Depot gift cards Staples sells at its stores are substantially less useful than Home Depot gift cards sold at staples.com, because the in-store gift cards are not usable on homedepot.com?
Significant to me because the expensive product I'm interested in is available at homedepot.com, but not at Home Depot brick and mortar.

I got the .0048 rate when Visa Savings Edge was around, how are you getting that rate now?

I think the post is quite old (August 2014) when Visa Savings Edge still worked at Staples. Current rate is $0.0067 per point (6.95 / (206.95 * 5)).

I have 2 RedCards and recently received my Ink Plus.
The 1st month I ordered $1800x5 and $1000x1 = $10k on different days.
Should I continue ordering this way or do the following?
1. Order the same amounts all in the same day
2. Order different amounts the same day
3. Order different amounts on different day
The reason I am considering order all $10k the same day is you never know
when AMEX or Chase will change their polices on RedCard on the purchases
of VGC.
How are you purchasing your VGC from Staples?

Question on Inking

When Inking VGC @ Staples, any red flags if I go through the UR Mall (shopping portal)?

Is this considered safe or am I being overzealous here?

Thanks Mia. But I'm not asking about terms I'm asking about "what if...."

Last week I accidentally went through URMall and bought some of those nice higher value GCs and they wound up giving me 2X the value of each gift card (extra) above and beyond my 5X. Took about a week to get the confirmation email. I'm just wondering if I screwed up and this can come back to haunt me. I guess it was their choice to issue the URs, right? I'm just thinking out loud...

Doubtful. Especially if it was your first time.

But if you make a habit of it, then you may raise some red flags. However, I see no reason to make a habit of it anyhow, since bonus points from the UR mall do not apply.

It was my first time. I promise to be a good boy from now on.
