Chase Chargeback opened, help!?
I made a purchase to a seller for a product I was supposed to receive for over $100 with my debit card through PayPal. He shipped the item, once I received it, it was significantly not as described. I paid for (2) sneakers but instead received a pair of slippers and textbooks. I tried to resolve the case with the seller but was unresponsive. I just opened a claim with Chase for not as described, am I likely to lose the charge back? They have temporarily credited me back.

Was this through ebay or somewhere else?

Paypal *really* does not like chargebacks against them. Have you tried PayPal's internal dispute service? (or ebay, if applicable)

This is directly through PayPal. I paid via an invoice, and yes I opened a dispute with PayPal, I won, I just needed to ship back the item to receive the refund, but the next morning when I went to submit tracking, the dispute automatically closed due to they needed more info on who I was since their was so little info they claimed they had on my acc when they had my ssn, bank account etc. So the chargeback process was my last chance and that's what I did currently.

This thread doesn't make sense. OP needs to list out in a very short & concise the who, what and when.

How doesn't it make sense? I opened a charge back and tried to explain the situation. What can make this thread make sense?
2. With whom did you dispute the debit purchase? 3. Something failed in the dispute resolution process with PP. What was that? |

2. With whom did you dispute the debit purchase? 3. Something failed in the dispute resolution process with PP. What was that? I opened a dispute through PayPal. Some days later, I was granted a refund but needed to ship the items back, so generally I won. So next day I went to submit tracking on PP and I noticed the dispute closed. I called PP and they told me it was closed because previously they had trouble getting more information with my account, even though they had my SSN, bank info, and some other things. So he basically won the dispute because of that. So what I did was I called my bank which is Chase and got submitted a charge back for not as described. So the worker took note of the situation and I was granted a temporary refund while they look into the case |
Best of luck. It's my understanding that PayPal, along with Amazon and Fedex, is one of those merchants which won't do business with you if you initiate a dispute outside the established internal process.

If Paypal would properly respond to email or tickets requesting assistance with a transaction, then they would probably find the chargebacks not to be an issue. They're a necessary evil but they are evil.
