United MileagePlus Explorer Business card: Various offers up to 100K

It seems that there is no united business card thread here. I really enjoy this card. Here is some details:

50000 united miles after $1000, in chase website, it shows 30000 miles. If you send chase SECURE message to match the best offer, they will give you 50000. My friend and i both got 50000 through this way. YMMV

update: thanks patter88:

"I went to the united site, clicked link for united explorer business, got landing page for 30K offer, clicked tab for Mileageplus Club business card got offer for $0 first year, clicked tab back to explorer business and boom 50K offer W/2K spend in 3months + the 10K after 25K."

Some people log into their united mileage account and find the 50k offer. YMMV

Plus, earn 10,000 bonus miles every calendar year you spend at least $25,000 on your Card.

Everything else is almost same as united explorer personal card. You got 2 united lounge passes and double mile on united....

Except 2 miles for each $1 spent at restaurants, gas stations, and office supply store.

It is not big deal but help me hit 25000 spending bonus.

Overall it is a nice card.

United business card: 50k+10k united miles

Thanks for the information. I've been thinking about getting this card and hadn't heard about getting 50k miles for it. The 2x categories are attractive, too.

nwflyboy Jun 9, 2013 1:05 pm

Must be no referrals for this card available for bloggers...otherwise we would have been hearing about it every other day...

I'm sure they'd say that the Ink cards are better because of the ability to transfer to United.

satman40 Jun 9, 2013 1:15 pm

The Ink Card is better
5X on office supplies, cable and cell phone bills,
and you are not just stuck with United, WN and many Hotels are there also
Chase Banks do offer 50k, at the bank...
It cost the same FC, and the options are far better.
We have both.

Well, the ink is 5K within 3 months, which is a bit high for a minimum spend. At least for my personal circumstances, 1K is significantly more manageable.

MrMoonlight Jun 9, 2013 2:34 pm

When do you send them the sm? Do you apply first and then ask for the 50k?

patter98 Jun 9, 2013 2:41 pm

Interested as well. Guessing its after approval and then your taking a chance.

patter98 Jun 9, 2013 2:47 pm

Well that was odd. I went to the united site, clicked link for united explorer business, got landing page for 30K offer, clicked tab for Mileageplus Club business card got offer for $0 first year, clicked tab back to explorer business and boom 50K offer W/2K spend in 3months + the 10K after 25K.

Not sure if this will work for everyone?

United business card: 50k+10k united miles

I got the same offer of 50k after the first statement close. Just send a secure message, it is easy. Chase is glad to match you best offer.

You are a lucky one.
Didn't work for me.

So, did you first send them a secure message asking for the 50,000-mile offer, then you applied via the link that stated 30,000 miles...or did you apply first for the 30,000-mile offer, then asked them to up the miles to 50,000?

intenex Jun 9, 2013 8:37 pm

Muji, I believe you can try applying for the card and then sending a Secure Message. I did this for my mother last May for the personal card and they bumped her offer from 30k to 60k. I think it's their policy to bump people up to the best offer when requested.

Question to you all: do you happen to know if it's possible to get this bonus if I've already had the Personal United MileagePlus card? Got the personal card last May for 60k points and just cancelled this April.

Just got the Ink Plus card too, so not sure if Chase would approve me for the Business United Plus if I do it right now too. Any thoughts on this front too? Also I generally don't use cards once I've hit the signup bonus...anyone have any idea when Chase starts to shut down accounts for exploiting signup bonuses?

It's likely I'll be cancelling both cards in a year if I get them both (Ink Plus and United Business), before the annual fee.

The personal and business versions are considered to be "different products", so yes, you can get a bonus for each of them.

As for not using the cards once a signup bonus is received, there is nothing in the rules against that, but I use any cards I have at least once every few months in the belief that this will make it look like I am applying for the cards for the purpose of actually using them somewhat regularly (not just to get the bonuses). This may not be necessary, but it's easy enough to do, so I do so in order to keep in the good graces of the card-issuing companies.

I sent them secure message after the first statement close. And I applied for this card through 30000 miles link on the chase.com.

Can you get this card if you don't actually have a business? Do they check using your SSN to see if you have been filing tax returns for a business from the address that you list?

spermwhale Jun 10, 2013 6:41 am

Worked for Me

+1 here. Well, the deal appeared, I applied and it is pending decision. Thanks for the tip.

Nick311 Jun 10, 2013 7:43 am

Awesome, thanks for the heads up on this. Adding this one to my next AOR at the end of the month.

You don't need to have a business in any formal sense. (And they usually do not even ask you what sort of business you have. But if they do ask, answer honestly. For example, perhaps you do some sort of consulting, or landscaping work, or you teach piano? In other words, maybe you do some sort of side work and you want to keep separate any expenses related to that work.) For the name of the business you can simply put your own first and last name. You do need to have filed any business-type tax returns.

YMMV; in some cases, with some credit card companies, they do ask for documentation of a formal business.

Too bad I didn't see this last week. At the time, I checked my account and only saw the 30K bonus offer for the explorer biz card (I'd been waiting for 50K offer to come back). I clicked on the biz club card tab and I got $0 AF first year offer (which wasn't offered to me before) so decided to get the club card this time. Looking at it today, the 50K offer now shows up. Oh well.

MBrownyard1 Jun 10, 2013 9:37 am

I cant get a the 50,000 offer to pop up. Not sure which link you are clicking on.

Git-er-dun Jun 10, 2013 9:43 am

Got Mine

Post #9 worked for me. I had to log into my account first however.
I just got approved. 50K (edit) The browser I used was "Internet Explorer".

MBrownyard1 Jun 10, 2013 10:07 am

I've logged into my United account, click on products and Services>get credit card>then click on unite mileageplus buisness which opens a new window and then click to the club card tab and back and nothing. is this how everyone is doing it?

spermwhale Jun 10, 2013 10:46 am

Yep!

That certainly sounds like what I did. I guess it is YMMV.

The first window, after clicking to get a business card showed up with a 30K offer. Then opened the tab for the club card. Then opened the tab for the Explorer Business card again and, voila, it had changed to a 50K offer.

Sorry it didn't work for you.

Thanks patter98, followed your instruction, got my 50K/2K spand last night...

Ditto, same method, saw the 50k and applied. Pending, but thanks for the tip.

Edit: Recon call, credit switcharoo and approved.

Worked for me as well. Thanks. Now just have to wait for the mail to see if I'm approved.

Thanks muji for that explanation. I think I do have some business which will qualify.

johnnie198x Jun 10, 2013 11:51 am

Thanks for the post. It seems like if you're targeted for the 50k personal card, then you'll have 50k business card offer.
I have the personal Explorer, and I can't get the offer to show up.

teammjs Jun 10, 2013 11:54 am

pdf?

Could someone please post a PDF of the 50+10 offer landing page?

I think that would help those of us that can't get it directly, but plan to send a SM requesting it.

Thanks.

I wasn't targeted for the 50k personal card...I already have the personal Explorer too, and it worked for me.

For those who got the 50K offer on the business card: Do you, or did you ever have the personal United card? If so, when you applied for the personal, did you get a 50K or 30K bonus?

See a few posts ago (I believe my last post on page 2). I currently have the personal Explorer (got it with the 50k bonus last July). I did the click the tab for the Business Club card, click back to Business Explorer card method, and the 50k offer showed up.

I

yes, i have personal and i got it last feb with 65k offer. And i got business this april with 50k.

stevento Jun 10, 2013 12:52 pm

Seems like logging in activates the offer. Unlogged, I was shown the 30K one, but logged in, 50K appeared.
Better still - the Club Card went from $395 with $100 off, to no fee first year!!!
I was considering it as I have lots of spend, no more minimums to hit, and a possible UA family trip in 2 years for which I'll need a million miles easy.

lad2 Jun 10, 2013 3:05 pm

For those who got the 50K offer by switching tabs, what is date for your last activity in your MP account?

Don't think it matters but mine was 5/1/2013.

Hmm, ok so there goes that theory :). I have 3 similar MP accounts. They all received the 50K offer on the personal card in the past but only one receives the 50K on business now. And the only differences I notice right now are the activitiy dates and the number of miles. The one account that got the offer has plenty of miles with the lastest transaction date 06/03/2013 from UR transfer. The other two latest transactions are in May and from purchase point on personal card.

P.S. Screenshots of the offer landing page & the offer detail for whomever need them here » http://imgur.com/a/B8gPF
The offer details can be seen here as well » https://www.theexplorercard.com/disc...iness_50k.aspx

teddy25 Jun 10, 2013 3:51 pm

I have both personal and business. I did signed up with 30k link, was able to get it bumped up to 50k.

Don't forget the 2x on gas ...... 25k x2+10k=60k
