Possible to transfer Chase Freedom UR points?

I have a fair amount of UR points, but the flights never seem worthwhile/cheap!

Is it possible to transfer them with bonus?

Which card(s) do you have? To be eligible to transfer Ultimate Rewards points to an airline, hotel or Amtrak program you must have one of these cards:

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred
  • Chase Ink Bold
  • Chase Ink Plus
  • JP Morgan Select
  • JP Morgan Palladium

There have never been a bonus for transfers from Ultimate Rewards to any partner.

I have avios/brit airways chase currently?

UR points are very flexible. It depends on if they are worthwhile to your lifestyle and travel style.

You should read up about how to get awards on transfer partners to get the best value. Best value is going to be for the higher classes like business and first when you talk about points per cent. But you should still be able to maintain around 1.9 cents per point value by booking awards with BA (for AA), Southwest (semi fixed value), korean air and United.

Chase doesn't do transfer bonuses, their style seems to be more about getting more points per dollar on the front end.

This card does not participate in Ultimate Rewards.

BAEC Avois cannot be transferred to any other program. You can redeem for travel on many other airlines, but you do this through the British Airways program. Read this thread:

gotcha, so where else can I use UR? The flight program seems pretty weak on redemption value.

You can redeem Avois for travel on any OneWorld member airline, which includes American Airlines, plus other partner airlines such as Alaska Airlines. I believe there are also hotel redemptions. Please read the thread linked in my previous reply, and of course look at the BA website.

Ultimate Rewards is what I want to redeem for flights.

If you have a British Airways VISA card issued by Chase it earns BA Avois points. It does not earn Ultimate Rewards points.

I have both...about 135k on one, and 110k on the other. I just find BA to be more useful for flights....especially within the domestic US. It seems like all Ur does it shows you current going rates, and then takes the points and puts them into $'s, at a poor rate.

I was wondering if there is a better way to redeem them?

Thank you for the clarification. Scroll back to post #2 and tell me which of those credit cards you have. Your BA credit card is not relevant to this discussion.

sorry, I have chase freedom.

If possible, I would recommending holding on to your UR points until you obtain one of the Chase cards mia mentioned above (Sapphire Preferred, Ink Plus, Ink Bold, etc). Then you will be able to transfer your UR to British or United.
