aarif1 is precisely correct ^.
You cannot transfer UR points unless you have one of the five cards mentioned in post #2. Apply for one of those, then you will be able to transfer the Freedom UR points to the new account, and from there to BA or one of the other partners. To be sure there is no misunderstanding you must apply for Chase Sapphire Preferred not the free Sapphire. |

If possible, I would recommending holding on to your UR points until you obtain one of the Chase cards mia mentioned above (Sapphire Preferred, Ink Plus, Ink Bold, etc). Then you will be able to transfer your UR to British or United.

The JP Morgan cards are not available without a banking relationship.
The only personal card on the list is Sapphire Preferred, see this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credi...-3-months.html The Ink cards are intended for small businesses. ahhh, I don't really want another annual fee'd card...
is there a better way to spend my UR pointsfrom my freedom, or just get cash? |
If you have a significant amount of UR points, you best option would be to upgrade to the Sapphire Preferred for a year, which will cost your $95, however the value to you receive from the miles(assuming it is a significant amount(>50K), will far outweigh the annual fee.
From their you can transfer it to several frequent flier programs depending on your travel plans and desires. |

If you have a spouse with the card you can combine points and then transfer.

You can't transfer UR from chase freedom to travel partners. Only Sapphire Preferred, Ink Bold, and Ink Plus have that ability. You would also have to first transfer points from freedom to one of these three cards, and then transfer to your desired airline/hotel program.
