I don't think so bulletin2007. The travel portal bonus itself is going away, which means all UR cards will be affected.

Any source? Thanks!

Chase Preferred Benefits

Do I have to book my full fare on my Chase Sapphire Preferred card to get the benefits for flight delays, lost baggage etc?

Since I am using rewards I am only paying for the taxes.

With other Chase cards that have this benefit paying the taxes is enough. I'd just call though. My experience is that the reps for CSP are pretty good. They either know the answer, or are willing to admit they do not know and go ask someone.

Chase Sapphire Preferred Benefits Thread

You just have to book some or all of the fare on your CSP card to get the baggage insurance benefits etc.... So by just charging the taxes you will get the travel benefits.

New Chase Sapphire Rules

I got a letter from Chase Sapphire saying that effective September 20 their mileage program is changing. Instead of a fixed point charge I.e. using points being based on within USA or fixed point charge ex U.S. to Europe or mid east, NOW , they will charge based on actual cost of ticket. What is someone's, best suggestion as to where to.possibly transfer our points so they will get the most flexibility for future travel. Please email: [email address removed by moderator]. We are new to this flyer talk forum and not efficient at using it.
Thank you
Evelyn and Marty

Welcome to FlyerTalk, Evelyn and Marty!

I've removed your email address from your post as it's generally not a good idea to post it in public (spammers will grab it and start sending you boatloads of spam).

To subscribe to this thread by email so you can receive email updates if people post, go to the medium-blue bar just above your first post above, and look to the right: you should see a menu named "Thread Tools." Click that, and one of the options should say, "Subscribe to this thread." Click that and then choose the option "Instant notification by email" under "Notification type."

Additionally, as a moderator, I've gone ahead and moved this thread over to the dedicated Chase Ultimate Rewards subforum on FlyerTalk, where the folks who know all the nitty gritty details about the Chase Sapphire and Ultimate Rewards products hang out. I'm sure one of them will be able to help you with your question!

Hope this helps!

(Note to those responding: this thread was originally posted in the flame-free Information Desk.)

Concerning the trip insurance increases, I assume they retroactively take affect for trips paid through the card? I have a trip to Europe in a week or so and the Icelandic volcano might create issues ... I paid for airfare, our hotel and a cruise on my CSP.

No more 2x on travel???!!!

Just got another email today from Chase about changing rewards. No more 2x on travel??? I'm not sure if this happened before today, but I haven't seen it for sure. This sucks. I'm going to have to seriously reconsider this card now.

2x on travel with the CSP isn't going away. The bonus for booking through the Chase Travel Portal is going away though, but not until 2016.

I just read this in their new benefit booklet, under reasons they can close your account and prevent you from using. Is it the same as always, or new?

***by repeatedly opening or otherwise maintaining credit card accounts for the sole purpose of generating rewards

Interestingly, it doesn't say "....maintaining Chase credit card accounts for the sole purpose of generating rewards" Churn Citi, lose Chase????
