Just in: Cathay Pacific axes almost all flights, capacity cut by 96%.
Across April-May, CX will fly only 3x/week to ONLY the following cities: London/Heathrow, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Tokyo/Narita, Taipei, Singapore, Sydney, New Delhi, Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila and Ho Chi Minh City.
If it's not on that list, it's not gonna see a single CX flight.

KA to continue services to PEK, PVG and KUL https://hk.on.cc/hk/bkn/cnt/finance/20200320/bkn-20200320124809243-0320_00842_001.html
It reports Tokyo as NRT <-- good that it's reinstated, I've a colleague stranded there on a pretty thin 4FPW JL flight.
I hope they come good. I can forgive CX for a lot of things if they can maintain these 3fpw frequencies.

Cathay stupidly has misleading information in their advisory. For example, it implies that in Australia, only Adelaide will be suspended:
https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_...assengers.html
https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_...assengers.html
The destinations (airports) that are subject to temporary suspension are as follows (dates for suspensions and frequency reductions are variable):
- China – Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan regions: Kaohsiung, Taichung and all mainland China destinations with the exception of Beijing, Shanghai Pudong, Chengdu and Xiamen
- The Americas: New York (Newark) and Washington D.C.
- South West Pacific: Adelaide
- Europe: Rome, Milan, Tel Aviv, London (Gatwick) and Barcelona
- Asia: Chiangmai, Bahrain, Kolkata, Clark, Davao, Male, Jeju, Busan, Seoul, Okinawa, Fukuoka, Nagoya, Sapporo, and Tokyo (Haneda), Tokyo (Narita) and Osaka.

Maybe I only care about the primary ongoing cities on djsflynn and OD’s list, but any city not on the suspension list is also at risk.
Those with MEL and ORD should prepare to be directed to SYD and LAX. Only question is whether CX will pay for QF/AA connection or are pax on their own.
