Doesn't look like very attractive to me. Any comments?

I'm curious about the "From $xxxx" part....will they really let me fly to NRT for HK$8K?

Got to agree does not look attractive, the discount is too low to make the potential costs in case of a need to change an itinerary worth it. Also still more expensive than the competition if one shops around.

I remember the similar promotions CX used to have in the 2000s, which would marry long hauls to a short haul, these where well worth it. These were usually run end of the year/January and were well worth it. Then CX changed the pricing model to make them virtually the same price as buying normally. That quickly killed those promotions. Perhaps it is the same person who killed that came up with this?

I need to go to Japan and Seoul in the next few weeks so I pored over it. Waste of time from what I can see. Does anyone actually fall for this?
HarbourGent and Nicc HK like this.

Like growing old, the Vantage Pass gets worse and worse by the year.

Prices are just so not attractive. I thought they are undergoing difficult times especially in terms of premium traffic. But the prices don’t reflect so.

They're getting desperate - scratching and clawing for any pretty pennies. Plus, they have enough stand-by pax to fill up the attractive destinations.

Isn't the second post exactly the opposite of what the first post says?

No, not at all. In generate cash in desperate times, there are three options:
1) discount as much as possible to get cash flow coming in
2) gouge the most profitable or least discerning customers (exactly what the Vantage Pass does)
3) do both

The "from" is because they need to show all inclusive prices including taxes, but they vary depending on your destination.

Yes!

Enough to encourage CX to repeat.

As was said by Goldfinger in Ian Fleming's book, "First time happenstance, second time coincidence, third time enemy action"

I know - what I was trying to imply is that the "From" is a gimmick. NRT will be much more than $8000.

Last time I bought the Vantage pass was a few years ago, and I remember they didn't have this "from" caveat.

I have just booked 2 long hauls in J (NZ and UK) and saved over HKD18K - about 22% on the best published individual fares.
As I needed to do these trips for business anyway this was a good deal for me.

Is it though? I am not Silver anymore so I can't check the prices.
