Yes, last year was probably in the range of 200-300 people I think. If you're into free things, they handed out some sparkling wine and had some customizable CX swag (there was a leather cardholder and another option that I forget now).
Didn't get invited this year, haven't been flying enough. .

I am invited and was surprised as only just attended the DM lunch. Good to have two things in quick succession.
Not decided yet yet whether I will go.

There is opportunity to talk with senior management there (eg Greg Hughes, the network planning lady etc) and they were briefed to go up to passengers and talk to them. But just like all conversations with CX management from passengers, don't expect direct action.
If it's like last year, it's likely you'll get some tidbits about new initiatives (routes etc).

I know a lot of management in a number of countries as I actually get to work with them. I know how strict thy are at who they invite. As a DM I am often asked to bring my wife who barely flies more than 40 000 miles a year on free tickets. With all the cut backs and offices being closed left, right and centre, I would imagine hey will cut back even more now on pointless dinners and hospitality events in the near future. It used to be like an old boys networks.

Your snarkiness is off topic... as is my reply. But QRC3288 is highly respected in these parts, and I imagine I speak for many on this board that we'd appreciate it if you take your Trumpy trolling elsewhere.

I can't fully understand your confusion.
Do language skills matter for becoming a DM?
Is this a discrimination based on language skills?
I thought Flyertalk welcomes diversity instead of discriminating people based on language skills.
