Flights from QYG [GermanRail]
For private reasons and purposes I have to fly from Germany to Australia 3 to 4 times a year from. Ow on. I expect to be doing that for the next 5 or so years, always if possible discounted Economy.
Flights are now on sale departing from QYG, any german railway station to FRA and then onto HKG to BNE.
Question 1: does anyone know, if I can stay a couple of nights and then take the train back to my origin (near Hamburg)? Or ist it a bound ticket, to be used in an uninterrupted travel sequence?
Question 2: what program would be best to collect / spend points or miles. There will be CC (not issued in Australia) spend in Australia, flights within Australia, car entehrtes etc. up to 4 times a year. Reasonable spending.
Go with QF, CX or BA?
Question 3: can take flights with 15 hr layover. Lounge or Hotel, both paid as an have no airline status anymore whatsoever... Health reasons kept me from doing much for the 3 years. My first trip will be on the 1st of May. Any advice gladly appreciated!

In any case, stop for a night for a total layover =< 24 hours is definitely okay, a night with a total layover > 24 hours may be okay but I'm not sure. Certainly not "a couple of nights."
I will let others answer on the other questions, but in general if you are looking to build status and primarily fly on CX discounted economy, I think the recently revamped CX MPO is not a bad idea. With 3-4 FRA-Australia trips per year and a few domestic QF flights, you should be able to reach Silver with MPO, which will give you lounge access whenever you fly CX or KA.

Thank you for your input.
Just read about the FoundersCard and am thinking that might be the way to go for now, as the seats offered with those cheap fares are around €150,00 per leg. And lounge access when traveling CX helps too.
