If you do expect you would qualify for DM in immediate future, then accepting Gold might be the option, provided you do so, right after your BAEC OWE gets renewed.
Then you have a year to deposit points to MPC and reach upgrade from Gold to DM, while still having the OWE benefits, based on your current BAEC OWE.
Be aware, that an MPC OWE is not so easy obtained as the one from BAEC.
I was only replying to sxc on why I believed that CX tracked other FFP members.

I did consider the point you raised.
But was not willing to go through the rigmarole of trying to align the dates of renewal and new CX status. Nor was I willing to spend a year going through the trouble of constantly switching FFP number to gain the benefits of OW in terms of seats, F check-in, F lounge access. I don't need the hassle.

Indeed, BA OWE is easier to attain for premium pax, not for Y pax.

Perhaps this is why AHQ did that prohibition (probably by internal memo) on not changing pax's FFP after check in.
not sure if thats true
ive never been stopped from changing ffp. Maybe some twits decided to make their own rule so they can be lazy.

I think it’s staff complaining about coming in on their day off for training. But I’m not sure.

What do changes to staff holiday hours have to do with Asia Miles devaluation?
Enhancements likes this.

Something like that, my interpretation was, they got remuneration for 4 hours and did have to spent 8.5 for the whole, including travel.

I nowhere saw anything related to the rumour itself, though the second link does require a FB login.

The post is just from a purported AM call centre agent whinging all leave is cancelled over upcoming *Dragon Boat Festival* holiday (18 Jun) to handle calls from members following change announcement. There is zero content on what the change actually is.

First read don't find it any related; re-read found the post writes like "Asia miles [change its terms] embargo all the public holidays (...) for taking AL" and my interpretation is AM changes its employee leave policy (probably to have better staffing during holiday" and not implied change in membership terms.
Calling in to ask anything is difficult in the first place. How should they find more staff to listen to angry customers when they could have kept the hotline difficult for actual inquiry?

The training part, my interpretation is they need to work for 8.5hr then OT 4 hours for training, instead of training within work hours.

Wait, mea culpa

I initially read it as Buddha's birthday

I just reread the message - it's Dragon Boat Festival - that's the next public holiday on 18 Jun. My bad.
