The voucher initiative is a good thing to hear!
Last March this happened to me. I was downgraded (HKG-CGK) and wasn’t offered anything (I’m OWE w AA), so I just Facebook messaged them and they upgraded me to business (I) lol. my mother was also with me on that flight on a separate booking shes MPC Gold, she got upgraded automatically after the equipment swap.
