QR Business Promo R Class MPC Club Points Accrual?

I might get flamed for asking this on this board, but I think putting it in the CX section makes most sense (Moderators: Please change the location of my entry if this is not the right forum).

Does anybody know whether the currently available business promo fare (R class) on QR is eligible to earn MPC Club Points and Asiamiles?

EDIT: Looks like I was looking at the wrong chart.

Based on that chart, it seems an R fare on QR isn't eligible for Asia Miles.

Looking at the BA chart, it also looks like R fares don't earn miles.

I recently booked an excellent QR fare from MNL-JFK which turned out to be "R" class. Thing is, in the past year or so, I used to buy during the bi-annual QR sale and I always used to get MPO/Asia Miles credit for those flights. (Same price, but used to be booking class "I") So this is turning out to be an unpleasant surprise.

Am hoping there will be changes to the earning chart soon -- after all, the price, while discounted, is still higher than CX's "E" or "R" fares to JFK. It should earn slightly more than Premium economy, at least?

But if not, this is making me rethink going for QR Privilege Club instead, where "R" class still earns same as "I". A tough call, though, after 24 years MPO...

Not going happen. Just cause you think your QR 'R' fare is more expensive doesn't mean it's the same across CX's network, for their fares originating from exHKG, and other outports. Unless you want MPO to turn into a revenue base program. Then, 85% of those that frequent this board will start flipping tables.

Airlines mileage will always flavor those that credit to their own airline's ffp.

The R fares aren't showing on other oneworld airlines earn chart as well

Here's the latest one for AA and it shows the same.

Ok - Called MPC and they have confirmed that they follow whats on the table. As no R class on the table for QR, then no accrual. Incidentally, R class on QR also do not accrual Qmiles, so I guess its only fair that MPC/Asiamiles follow suite.

If the class is not on there, then it earns 0. Just like how CX won't bother listing U,T,X classes on their table.

Might be a good sign that we will be able to earn Asia miles for these fares soon.

Seems to have been added to the Asia Miles page: https://www.asiamiles.com/am/en/earn...000ad21c39RCRD

But not the MPC page: https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_...ng-points.html

The Club Points earning table has now been updated to include R (at the same rate as classes J C D I)
