Chance of upgrade for CX138 31/3
Got me and my wife booked 2 V class ticket on CX138 31/3.
I've got the current loading from experflyer as follows:
J9 C9 D9 I2 W3 R2 E0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O0
PY is almost full, J is wide open, does anyone knows the actual loading of Y and how about our chances of upgrading to J from PY as PY seems quite full for the flight.
purchase PY instead of V is about $500US more and I guess I'd be happy to spend $1000 to fly both of us in J instead of Y.
I'm a DM and my wife is SL, thanks guys.

Something else to consider is that while you may have a high chance of op-up if PEY goes to 0, your wife will still be behind any other DMs, GOs and staff on ID90/ID11 tickets on the flight.

Op-ups seems unlikely, although they may be selling extra Y+ tickets given there's still quite a lot of space in J. CX is having trouble filling out this flight recently - it used to be packed to the frame just months ago.

ID cannot book PEY directly (only J or Y) so they would not be in competition for PEY->J upgrade here. And even if they were I doubt they would have higher priority than revenue pax.

I was referring to the fact that the OP was interested in J op-up. Op-up does come behind any ID 11 CX pax waiting for a J seat on the flight. With ID90, I concede that it depends on how necessary the op-up is.

I believe windchaser is referring to staff holding confirmed tickets (ie not standby), but in this case they won't be a competition for PEY->J op-up, they will simply fill the J seats like any other paying J pax.
