60 minutes is fine with a single ticket. I won't risk it with 2 separate tickets.

Thanks. Have decided to take the latter flight just in case. Any idea on the transfer procedures given that it is in 2 different terminals with 2 tickets? Do I need to clear immigration to re-checkin the luggage or I can tag it all the way to NRT from HKG. Thanks!

Thanks for highlighting. It should be JL 0804. Can I check where to collect BP in T2?
You can walk from B to C gate and across the main terminal 2 to D gate. Or, take skytrain from B to C and walk across the main terminal to D gate. Follow the sign "To Gate D1-D10, D5R" will gradually get you to D area. |

I have a flight from HKG to TPE and I am going to purchase a separate ticket from TPE to NRT. Given that these are 2 separate tickets and in different terminals, is 60 minute doable?
I will have check-in luggage and travelling in J class. If not, I will have to have a longer wait to take the afternoon flight. Also, can I interline the baggage all the way to NRT upon check-in on CX leg and where will be the transfer desk to obtain the JL BP in T2 since I am landing in T1? Any views? Thanks a lot for sharing! HKG 0730 hr TPE 0900 hr CX496 TPE 1000 hr NRT 1400 hr JL802 TPE 1315 hr NRT 1715 hr <STRIKE>JL30</STRIKE> JL 0804 Code:

have done this many times on seperate tickets in under an hour. best effort was a booked 45 min connection that i managed in 20 after changing to an earlier flight (arriving KA -> CX). the transfer desk seems quite used to seeing arrivals from HKG turning around to do TPE-HKG-MNL-HKG!

IIRC TPE has 36 gates (A-D; 1-11) max at this point (or does T2 only goes up to 10)
each of the letter pair is connected to each other; so A1-A11; D10-D1 are connected (by walking and by monorail) and so is B and C. and each side AB/CD is connected in the middle of each terminal so A6-B6and C6-D6 is to walk across where the facilities are. so T1-T2 is perfectly walkable; but from end to end expect a walk similar distance to walking from immigrations in HK to gate 60s. |
Need some help...
Travelling on two tickets in J: KIX-TPE (JL 813, 9.25-11.40 am) Terminal 2. TPE-HKG (CX511, 1.00-3.15 pm) Terminal 1. This means we need to go from T2 to T1. I checked flightstats and JL813 is usually on time and often early. Q1 - Is 80 min quite ok? Q2 - I can check through luggage from KIX all the way to HK, right? Q3 - There is no need for Taiwan visa, right? Thank you. |

No need to go through immigration (and thus, no need for a Taiwan visa). Upon disembarking off the plane, just follow the signs for Transfer, and then get on the skytrain from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1. |
Thank you.
