Status match

Apologies if this has been widely discussed previously, but what is the likelihood of a CX status match from BAEC?

Will be a Gold BAEC shortly, and am moving to Hong Kong so I was wondering if CX typically offers a challenge and can match to DM?

have a bit of travel in paid J upcoming if this makes a difference.

I suspect it’s not easy to get a match within the same alliance. I have tried to ask for status match from QR Gold to CX Gold or SL but no luck. Holding regional J class tickets when plead for status match.

Even if approved, chances are CX will only give Gold (OWS) at most.

If you want DM, just sign up for a credit card.

which cc can offer DM status? i thought the whole centurion thing was scrapped

I recently applied with QRPC, these are the conditions. For a data point, they offered CX Silver for QRPC Plat

Royal Jordaniain

SriLankan Airlines

Fiji Airways

Oman Air

— E-card/ Electronic membership card of the Oneworld alliance with the expiry date and the name in the account showing

— 3 months transaction in your Oneworld's membership account

— future Cathay bookings (please provide the booking reference)

Pretty typical

Probably rarer than other FFPs though in the sense that they only match FFPs within OW,
seems like many (if not most) other airlines match from FFPs except its partners
