CX ICN Lounge

I will be doing a turnaround at ICN and just wondered where is the CX lounge located. It is not clear on the CX.com whether is it located Airside or Landside?

I also have access to the OZ and KE lounge (through Priority Pass). Not sure which ones will be best.

Its airside. Similar quality to the singapore and tokyo lounge.

Singapore CX lounge is kind of small overlooking the airport its on the 2F. It has the usual CX shower but can be kind of loud sometimes.
Anyone been to the tokyo one? i suppose it is a shared one or JAL sakura?

Tokyo lounge is CX dedicated. It's nice, but not super special. It is the standard CX regional lounge (eg similar to ICN, SIN, BKK). I would say it is closest to BKK.

ICN has a quite nice JAL Sakura lounge, maybe a bit airier and lighter in color than CX.

But it is airier and has the big picture window, so I like it more than the other two. The Tokyo one is OK. I much prefer the JAL lounges. The F side is quite nice, great food and drink selection.

Has anyone gone to all OW lounges in one airport and is that allowed if you are OW emerald or CX gold, can i just go to every single lounge that is available?

christep Jan 12, 2009 11:12 pm

Assuming you have a flight on a OW airline deaprting from that airport later the same day then yes you can do that.

I wonder how they split the money then? I suppose that the lounge operating carrier will charge a fee to the airline the traveller's flt belongs to.

CX ICN Lounge photo

Brand new CX Lounge at ICN's latest Concourse A
January 2009

Turnaround and transit at ICN is really simple. The new Concourse A is even better than before.

Just remember that you need to show your itinerary/e-ticket receipt to the agent at the transit checkpoint, you will not be permitted to go to the departure level without a proper e-ticket receipt. Boarding pass is not required as most transit desks are located after checkpoint, but you need an e-ticket receipt (official one with clear date of departure and flight number).

If you are an OW elite or CX MPO and in transit, you can check-in at the lounge and the desk is able to print out boarding passes. If not or you do not want to head to the lounge due to a close connection, you can go straight to the gate of your departure flight for check-in. CX has no transit counters at ICN.

Wow the ICN lounge looks better than before...similar but better. I wonder why they felt a need to make it bigger as I didn't think the old one had over crowding problems. And in which cases would CX passengers actually be transiting at ICN?

Maybe onto JAL and to provincial Japanese destinations?

this is a bit unrelated but still revolves around global lounges.

in the event that there is no cx lounge at your place of origin, and you're holding a mpc silver, you would not be allowed in the business lounge that cx specifies on their site for J class, is that correct?

No you can. When you check in, CX should print you a lounge invite for access.
