CX Ticketing Time Limits

  • the above guidelines apply to all bookings made in Hong Kong with
any one segment on confirmed status.

  • the ticketing time limit is not applicable to those special fare bookings
    with laid down ticketing rules.

  • bookings without a ticket number are subject to auto cancellation
    without prior notification.

  • input of fictitious ticket number would also result in cancellation
    of bookings.

I wonder why I am able to make bookings with my travel agent 2 weeks or more in advance and not have them ticketed until sometimes the day before departure?

I did a booking about three months ago. When I called my TA to ticket, she said the deadline was passed but my booking was still there. I suppose the system realised my status and did not do an automatic cancellation by the deadline.

One reason they did not bother cancelling until the last day was probably because I could always call back at least 24 hours before departure to rebook.

I'm reasonably sure that Diamond overrides those deadlines, probably automatically. Gold may well do too.

CX TPE told me as a DM I am not subject to any ticket deadline (except for award bookings). However I am not sure whether this is automated in the system or manually override?

Same applied on GO too. However when I explained it to HKG CX, TPE CX was claimed to be the wrong one.

Thank you so much for posting! It is very interesting. If you find anything that might be of interest in the website, can you also post them please? It would be so helpful.

In the chart, it mentioned "All Destinations", but also specific routes? Does those specific routes trump the dates for "all destinations", or is it in addition to?

Also, the "peak" dates do target all of the major school/university holidays.
