Cathay Business / First class recent experiences?

Hi All - I will be flying via Heathrow at the end of October to Taipei with Cathay - out business class / back in F and I was wondering what to expect both on the ground and in the air. What are the best seats and what is the new business class like - will I get the new business class on this route - On the first class return flight to Heathrow , also what is the chances of the new F on trhis route? I have flown BA and SIA in the past - But never with Cathay - Also how many miles / polints should I expect to get on my BA one worls card - Cheers,

flight out is - 27OCT HEATHROW HONG KONG 1245 0725
back is - 31OCT HONG KONG HEATHROW 2355 0505

Most of your questions could easily be answered by taking a look at the "What's Onboard" section on cathaypacific.com. Regarding the mileage enquiries you should consult the mileage calculator on ba.com

Please do a search here, I am sure that you could find out many comments about your questions. Had been discussed so many times already...

ok will do but was really only looking for answers from passangers that have actually flown same rather than what the official site says - I will have a search anyway - thanks:)

Try looking for info in the Trip Reports Forum as well.

As GoldFlyer says, some amazing trip reports have been written about traveling on Cathay. Here's a very old thread I started, listing some memorable Cathay trip reports. It was a lot of fun reading them and getting into the spirit of a trip I had upcoming at that time. I just checked links in that thread, and not a one works with our move to the current software. Still, it gives you some handles you can search on and find the threads anew. Or just search for newer ones.

Here's one example, by PresRDC.

Outbound on the 27OCT, you will be on the 74A aircraft which features the new J. But on the return, it's the current F on CX251. To take the new F, you must rebook yourself on CX255 which leaves past midnight at 0055 at 1NOV, and arriving into London at 0620. (Just 1.5 hours later than currently booked)

For experiences and trip reports, go search under TRIP REPORTS or even here. There are many many reports and many of them are current. You just have to use the search feature!

To find out about how many miles you're going to get on BA miles, ask this at BA.com. This forum, after all is all about CX's Asiamiles/MPC. :p

Only in F class and it comes with a pair of slippers as well. The brand is SHT and I find them to be the best quality in Oneworld.
