Ticket number

I've been claiming Iberia Plus points for a HKG-TPE flight I took a few weeks ago, and Iberia is requesting the ticket number (a bit stupid, since it was a round trip and they have already credited the points for the TPE-HKG segment).

Anyway, I sent them a copy of the booking confirmation and highlighted its number (J2VXX), but they insist that they want the TICKET number. I e-mailed Cathay some days ago and still no reply. Is there an easier way to get it? Or is it printed on the confirmation, boarding passes, etc? I haven't been able to find it.

Thanks.

This is a shortcoming of Cathay's system - if you book a revenue ticket on their website none of the confirmation emails shows the ticket number (which starts 160...). If you book through their phone reservations line then the email confirmation you receive does include the ticket number. I have often worried about this, although so far I have not had a problem.

The place the ticket number does sometimes appear for tickets booked on the website is on your credit card statement where it will say "Cathay Pacific Airways 160xxxxxxxxxx". If it shows 160+10digits then that is the ticket number.

With the ticket number, you might be asked to send a copy of the ticket as IB might want to see the fare basis you are on. If that happens, go back to CX and ask them to retrieve a copy of your ticket based on your ticket number and somehow send it to you.

Good point. I just called Iberia and they said they do need a copy of the ticket, even though they are just requesting the ticket number in the letter. Why does it always have to be so hard??

Thank you!
