I took two CX flights in the past two days.

The first in business -- no greeting at all.

The second in economy -- greeted by ladies in three colors -- one red, one purple and one black. The purple lady, as u know, usually serves business class cabin. She came to give me a Japanese newspaper, which I didn't even ask for. All I could guess was she probably saw me, a diamond stuck in Y :D , on the manifest and brought an extra copy for me. A great service.

You don't need to be greeted in J, as you should be well serviced in J

i was greated and handed a bottle of watter with a hand printed card thanking me for flying cx "AGAIN"

i slept the entire hkg-bkk flight but when i got off i was told that "we came by to say hi, but you were sleeping"

when i was walking to the baggage area in BKK i was greated by name by a woman who was not at all recognized by me, she then told me she was working the first class section reception at the wing and had checked me in that morning (i did not recognize her w/o her uniform)

she wished me a pleasant stay in BKK and then told me she was staying there for a few days on holiday. that was above and beyond, way to go cx

Another Long Haul on CX, still no greetings. Maybe Gold still not worth it. I've travel 5 trips this year on CX. Maybe need to be Plat to be noticed. hehe

Maybe ;) . I've been greeted more than 50% of the time in Y, as a OneWorld Emerald. Most recently, CX even gave me a sample of the dessert from Business Class! Go for QF Plat, Wongo. ;) :p

(Side note: I suspect that it was because they wanted to make sure she didn't feel left out that the cabin crew also gave my seatmate a slice of the heavenly chocolate cake. She wasn't a frequent flyer -- she told me so when we talked over breakfast at the Wing, where I took her as my guest because she didn't like the breakfast on board -- so I'm pretty sure it was purely the CX cabin team's soft touch ^ that got her the Business Class dessert. I really like CX cabin crews. They're mostly amazing.)

I might splash money to fly J from LAX-HKG on J. I will need to do 25 SC to make Plat. $1200 USD more to make Plat. I hope they one day give me a op-up for long haul. hehe

azmmza must be an attractive and/or rich man?

cardenio98 Sep 8, 2005 11:37 pm

CX must be reading this thread because, since it's started, I've flown TPE-HKG and HKG-SYD in Y, got a greeting each time from the ISM, no water or anything else, just the greeting.

However on these two routes there would be a lot of pax with status of some form and, particularly on the HKG-SYD route, there seemed to be a few ppl around me getting greeted, including the girl beside me. Turned out she was MPO Silver. With so many pax with some status, that would be a lot of bottles of water so I can understand there could be space issues if they tried to supply a bottle of water to everyone.

Normally I find the bottle of water not too necessary anyway because I grab one from the lounge as I leave and take it with me.

Just hoped off CX 881. I've seen the manifesto. It actually says who to greet. I saw someone had a name with Welcome back next to it.
Well, my one was QF Sap, Paid Upgrade at LAX. (interesting they add that stuff in there). Saw a few CX Gold and Diamonds.
Hmm, well, the CSM just said hi and her name was Sharon. Then walked off, so I assumed that was a greeting?

Didn't ask if you have any special needed? So you upgrade to J right?
I think only folks in Y would necessary to be greeted by the ISM, as that might be the only chance they ask for something.....

Paid my way to J.
Said nothing about welcome back again, thanks for your money, if there is anything thing I can do for you just ask. None of those, just say, hi, my name is _____. O well, I thought the service from BKK-HKG or SIN-HKG was much better...
O well, not expecting much anymore anyway so. Just good luck if I get someone greets me specially.
