Very true. I was in HK on a 18 hour transit onward from NY to CMB. Jet lag, work fatigue made me oversleep and made it to the airport 1 minute before take off. Immigration, customs and a full speed sprint all the way to gate 64 got me to the gate 14 minutes after take off time. All the way to the gate I had ground handling staff checking my boarding pass and radioing ahead. Yes they held the plane for me. My baggage was already on the plane interlined from NY, so I guess they had little choice. CX ground handling does go to amazing lengths to locate missing and errant passengers. If you still miss out on the flight, I wouldn't dare ask for a freebie room, specialy since you were in the airport all the time. BTW, would it have been faster on train between terminals than the sprint? Ryann |
Ryann - The train is a long escalator ride down, and you have to wait for it. I think it's faster to sprint in the terminal instead.
