Please help me fly CX
 

I have some AA miles I'd like to burn while in Bangkok later this year. I only have enough points for an award flight within the region (Asia 2 I think it's called). I would like to fly CX via HKG to another destination (gotta use those lounges in HKG ;) ).

Does anyone know of any destinations within the region that are most directly served by CX via HKG, i.e. that cannot be reached from BKK with a direct flight?

From the map, it looks like Manilla, Hanoi, Penang, Cebu, Bali, Surabaya, and Ho Chi Min City. So those would be city combo's to check to see routing.

Travel is a very personal thing - but of those destinations, I particularly enjoy Penang, Bali, and Hanoi. There is plenty to see and do on the ground in each place.

You might also consider Taipei as a possible destination as well. It falls within Asia 2 Zone on AA Award Chart.

They won't let me into the country anymore (my ex is from Taiwan ;) )

Try Beijing or Xiamen in China.

I am not sure if CX allows FF awards for flights into Hanoi and some cities in China.

Yeah, I tied PEK from NRT - no availability for 1 pax in Y in June, early July, September, nor early October :rolleyes:

Xiamen might be nice.
