Does AF sell F on this route? If not, it’s not even a fare comparison.

In terms of crew & food, unless AF is million miles ahead of its European counterpart, it is hard to believe it can even come close to Cathay.
For the lounge in HKG, QF lounge is less crowded simply because the Pier is better. No decent food available (other than cheesecake) out of the 2 or 3 hours before QF flight departure...

If we must pick a reason why the French prefer their own carrier relatively more than other Europeans, maybe it's just because they are generally more "xenophobic"? Like how they dislike English and proud of French is world famous, you can't find a French-speaking crew on CX right?

Indeed, I believe Air France is “a million miles ahead of its European counterparts.”

My comment about the lounges in Hong Kong was said mainly in jest. Cathay’s lounges do however get very crowded at times. I mainly use the Deck - nostalgia for my old days flying Dragonair !

Have you even flown AF on the CDG-HKG route?
They now offer a suite that is an upgraded version of the Cirrus seat with a door. Until CX comes up with Aria on this route, AF seat is far superior to CX A350 Cirrus seat. ANd the previous AF cirrus seat was fully comparable to CX A350 seats.AF food is also better and service good.
In terms of lounges, I like QF lounge at HKG, even outside of QF flights hours. And AF CDG lounge is better than what CX currently use (was not the case when you could use QR lounge at T1).

I'm not a fan of doors in business class. I found them claustrophobic rather than more private, but I am a big fan of the customized Cirrus seats on CX's A350. AF's A350 have retractable IFE which is good, but the lower storage space can't compare to CX's and thus the extra bed area is (significantly) smaller (or even non-existence). As this is my favourite feature on CX's Cirrus, I do like CX's seats better than AF, although they are similar.
In terms of food of service, I found CX to be far superior to AF. But different people have different opinion, I respect that.
Objectively, we can look at Skytrax - CX #5 and AF #9, and that's when AF's First class experience is far supeior than CX's, so I can only imagine in the other cabins, CX has its edges over AF.

I flew Cathay from Paris two months ago and the Qatar lounge was still available - you had a choice of it or the Extime lounge, you could not do both. Has this changed?

The Qatar lounge at CDG is spectacular - it’s only (and serious) drawback is that it is before security.

Apologies.
CX was supposed to move back to Terminal 2 two months ago. But that has been delayed again.
Hence, QR premium lounge is still available for CX J pax.

Overall the AF A350 seats are slightly superior than CX A350 Cirrus but the front row seats would be far superior. The biggest problem with AF is the bedding, not having a mattress topper is a big miss in my opinion.
