Cathay Mixed Cabin Redemption booking
Hi All,
I've just made a redemption booking from ICN to HKG in economy then 2 hrs layover onwards from HKG to SYD in business class in 1 ticket. According to what I've read online I get the highest class lounge benefits for the entire flight, however the customer service said I only get lounge access in HKG. There's also nothing online about the other benefits like priority check in/baggage. So just wanted to clarify on here do I get access to the oneworld lounge in ICN? Will I get priority check in and for the baggage will I get the business class benefits for the entire flight? |
Assume from the word 'layover'that both flights have been redeemed under the same booking?
Edit: OP did say 'in one booking', my apologies In this case then yes for lounge access at ICN: https:/www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_HK/destinations/lounges/all-lounges-admittance.html Priority check in & baggage yes too I'd assume priority boarding no for ICN-HKG |

Hi, can I ask how you booked the mixed cabin redemption on Cx? I would like to book one leg of my itinerary on economy and the next leg in business but when I choose the multi-city itinerary, it seems to only let me choose one cabin type for both flights on Asia Miles.

Also in regards to my original query:
Got the priority check in, priority luggage & lounge access on the economy flight. The ticket shows only 1 checked in luggage allowed so didn't want to risk bringing in 2 luggages to test this out. |

Did you figure out how to book a mixed cabin flight on one ticket? I tried calling and they said it had to be two separate tickets. Not sure if I need to HUCA

Have to call up to book it. The customer service said it couldn't be done. But I've read online that you can so I was adamant that it's possible and they went to check with their supervisor and booked it for me.

Just need to check availability first online for the mixed class before ringing
you mean checking availability for AAA-HKG in J & HKG-BBB in PY and if both have availability then CX's agents can definitely marry them? Which fare rules apply? |

Is this only available for CX flights? Can they also marry partner awards? Looking to book JL J international connecting to JL Y domestic.

Yes, that's correct. You just check that there's availability on individual legs and then they can put it together on one ticket. Here's an article about how the pricing works for mixed class tickets.

So I'm been calling to try to book a PY and J mixed award but customer service agents are adamant that it can't be booked unless I book them as individual segments. Has there recently been a change or is it a case of HUCA until someone is able to do it?
