On rare occasion The Chinese style "chu hau" beef rib or something from Joburg was quite good. (Same menu for the entire year so it was pretty consistent) But the portion was so small it might as well been the Chinese happy meal haha

But yes. Wonton noodle n burger for snack. Choose a more substantial western email at outport will be a wiser choice (just ask the crew if you can reserve the snacks ahead or I sometimes ask if I could have the noodle as the breakfast instead of the breakfast menu)

I had the chicken and rice on the way to HKG and it was better than I expected. Very fluffy rice and tasty chicken which wasn't gamey.

But the star of the show was that burger. I requested it mid-flight and it was one of the best burgers I ever had. I don't know what it was, there was some kind of sweet pickle or something and the patty was extremely tasty and tender. Bun was not too big and was very warm when serving. Very little or no sauce either (couldn't tell because it was sleepy time on the flight). Just an absolutely delightful burger.

I hope its available on the flight back because I certainly will get another. I didn't try the wonton but had it at the HKG lounge, and it never disappoints.

CX uses Gerkins as their in-flight burger pickle.
This is available as the main or in-flight snack in long-haul J. I am another fanboy of the burger, and some crew I met on my commutes will ask me during boarding whether to save me a burger.
In-flight won ton noodles leave a bit to be desired as it is challenging to do the broth and Won ton to the right temperature.

F Pre-Order Options

10 days out from LAX-HKG in F and these are the options. Seems pretty lame for F.

I've got the same options on the same route coming up -- which one did you pick and what did you think?

Sorry just saw this. I ended up going with the caviar and then the Chinese meal but skipped the soup due to turbulence. The chicken was actually really good. Also had the noodle soup midflight which was excellent. A great flight with great service.

MAD-HKG pre-order options...any recommendations?

The hake is actually quite Spanish authentic, apart from the barley
Thinking of the Sichuan prawns or the beef short ribs...since there's soup noodles and the burger as an all day snack option?

Had the prawns last time...it was okay but not spicy and definitely nothing to do with Sichuan whatsoever LOL

It's available on SIN flights for sure as I have some upcoming travel booked. The menu is not the same as the long haul, they have different choices. I am not sure what other short haul J have this available.
