Cathay Dragon will be gone.. folded in HK Express.. and CX will be a shell of what it was... transferred into Air China..

Watch this space. Death for CX is imminent.

KA, like CX, survived the year of SARS. Back then, KA was a stand-alone company.

I’m not sure if this is against forum rules, but would you care to put a wager on that?

The rule that is supposed to take effect tomorrow (07FEB) states that foreigners (not including Hongkongers and Macanese) who only transited in HKG and MFM are not subject to entry restriction. Only those who entered Mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macao in the past 14 days are barred from entry. However, there were just 2 confirmed cases confirmed in the past couple of hours where the patients only transited through HKG from Italy, so it is expected that a newer measure will be put in place soon to address that.

interesting. Is it quite certain they picked it up while transiting through HKG airport?

I just saw in NowTV (TPE-HKG-Europe (MXP)-HKG-TPE)

If it is during the transit we should see some cases around the airport too.

There isn’t yet, and we’re reporting even isolation cases too. Watch this space tho.

We don't know if it's during transit or not. More likely, they were infected by other pax onboard, but the question remains: Where is the other pax? I also would not discount the possibility that they were in close contact with someone infected either when passing security, lounge, or at the gate. In which case, it may be another pax transiting via HKG and would not necessarily cause causes around the airport. Still, we have to know where the virus came from before we can comment more.

The news was released a couple of hours ago and was announced by the Minister of Health and Welfare of the ROC, so I would say it is very credible.

The official link is not clear on this, but there were 2 news reports (in Chinese) that clarified that transit pax are excluded, at least for now:

Prehaps some aircraft in central australia for more longer term storage, TPE and other closer locations for other aircraft if CX is confident some aircraft will need to be available at shorter notice

Presently in HKG:
