US AM awards to Asia are routed via AA to a CX gateway.
Canadian AM awards to Asia are routed via AC to YYZ or YVR.
CX doesn't codeshare or have access to sell AC Canada US Transformer flights, Full-stop.

Sorry, but what you are saying doesn't make much sense. You can have an AM award using AS or AA from any Canadian city to any US CX gateway to fly to HKG (e. g., YVR-SEA-HKG or YUL-ORD-HKG). You can also have just AA flights or just JL flights. CX doesn't even need to be there. Plus, award flights are always booked in prime flight, not code-share. True, the AC flights that can be redeemed are the ones on the route CX also code-shares on (AFAIK), but award flights are not booked in CX*/AC (needs to be booked on AC prime) and the flight does not need to have a CX code-share.
