The Sodexo-ed noodles (tried two varieties) were similar if not worse to offerings by PPL/Pen.

It's a shame that outlets were lacking at the terrace portion although that might mean easy movement of furniture for (whatever function that requires) large empty spaces.

Lockers really rock tho. If I had a layover/some time to chill at HKG but want to stay at the lower gates, I don't need to hike to Pier J anymore to store my bags. If only Wing F/Pier F have them as well......

Actually in Wing F you can leave your bags with the staff, and they will give you a claim stub

Any word on how QF lounge and Deck coordinate the back door of QF? Is it permanently closed now or still open in evenings? Anyone seen it open on mornings? That's a great shortcut downstairs to gates 16-19 if open (north security->immigration->right turn->Qantas lounge->backdoor->Deck->downstairs).

And I presume you can just pop out of Qantas back door if open, and go to Deck? Is it possible to go other way?

I still haven't visited.

A report from the 23rd March in the evening was that the QF back door was closed.

Huh? It was open as of the evening of 29th March when I used it to cross from QF to Deck

The 23rd was the second day the deck was open. Maybe QF hadn’t changed its operations yet for the reopened escalator.

It wasn't open during mid day on my visit on the 27th. We visited QF separately and the inner half of the lounge was cordoned off. Maybe only in the evenings?

CX definitely wouldn't be happy if they had to fork out for QF lounge visits for pax that were headed for their lounge. :D

What's good about the back door? I went to the Deck the other day and it was disappointing.... nothing really to shout about, just another very ordinary CX J lounge. I would rather stay at the QF lounge.

coming from the old G16, you have to admit its an upgrade.

Personally I like how all new lounges look the same.

Yea, CX deserves criticism in many places. But lounges...particularly for non-status business class passengers and or SL / GO / OW Plat level.....CX is downright amazing.

If shouting is your approach, then the "refined" CX lounges are indeed not that much of your game.

Crowding being encouraged by CXs “Make time for” campaign.

Inner half of QF lounge closed on 1/4 mid-day visit, back door closed as stated by staff.

i think inner half of QF lounge is opened in evening ahead of QF flights. having said that i saw it open before around 2pm ahead of JAL flughts.

but back door of QF appears closed. was there on 4th april beween 6 to 7 and they kept it closed. it would be handy as qf uses gate 17 area sometines.

as to deck, just 1 comment.... way too small....

QRC3288 Apr 8, 2018 12:11 am

Just went for the first time. Lovely lounge, but far too small.

Not sure if I was there on a bad day or not, but multiple people blasting their phones on speaker or watching TV/movies with the volume cranked up. I find that annoying. Might've had to do with the fact that the lounge is just too small for the crowds. And this is a Sunday!

Crowds here so far seem to be replicating Cabin.

I think I'll stick to the Qantas lounge if looking to kill time at this side of the airport.
