Spirits seem like quite an obvious omission. There are spirits in every self serve outport CX bar that I can think of.

I hope this isn’t a sign of haphazard management. Or a sign of where they thought they could cut costs/corners.

I’m not sure why the installation of a tended bar is a decision up to Sodexo. The sunk cost would be CXs and given this lounge has physically been ready for a few months I would think that CX already took that off the table. Unless they open a drinks cart on the deck since it looks like there’s some space there.

I was transiting in HK last night, just managed to visit the Deck for 15 mins. It is obviously much better the Gate 16. I don't think the food quality is any better than Plaza Premium though. Any way I will definitely choose this lounge over The Cabin. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...0d5473f9cc.jpg

Do they have beef noodle at the noodle bar, like the one at TPE lounge?

I had a chance to visit before it opens; the terrace area feels more spacious than Pier, but lacks charging opportunities.

Not remembering accurately but I think the noodles taste a bit different from Pier too (due to different caterers?), no beef noodle at the time I visited but some 4 choices.

So far I'd prefer Pier or the adjacent Qantas for the offerings. It might feel different if I could visit it at different time/crowdedness level.

QF rear door is closed tonight.

There are AC and USB sockets set into either end of those long concrete-looking benches set against the wall of the lounge - not obvious but there they are. Not sure if there are sockets at or under the other tables - possibly the long wooden benches just outside The Noodle Bar.

Internet was standing up well when I visited this afternoon - lounge was surprisingly busy given it’d just opened - download speeds still a solid 20Mbps but uploads wound back to a few MB.

What I did notice was the queue in the men’s toilet - there are three urinals and two stalls, and both times I visited there was a queue...

The old lounge used to have comfy sofas with tables, now it's replaced with (seemingly) cheap plastic chairs, how comfortable are they?

I suspect the beef noodle is a local food option they added to the TPE lounge, like Japanese breakfast at the HND lounge.

On one hand I'm a bit disappointed that they're unifying the lounge experience across the brand but on the other hand, it's a a good experience so why change something that's already working.

Sofas and tables are still there, just not captured in chentaiman's photos. You'll see them in the AUSBT link.

They could carve a small area at the end of the Terrace near the noodle bar for the bar...perhaps something like the noodle station kiosk they have in PVG. wondering if that would work.

The "outdoor" chairs are not very comfortable...not entirely sure what inspired them to do it. I guess it looks nice on photos and for instagram...but honestly I don't see myself sitting there more than 30 mins.

So now this is just another Cathay Pacific lounge, where is the Cathay Dragon's own lounge?

Not going to happen.

There won't be any more Cathay Dragon lounges, they are all being rebadged as 'Cathay Pacific' lounges even if they get no make-over.
