Camera attachments no longer allowed
It’s been about 2 months since my last CX flight so I might have missed any announcements but on my flight today, I was informed that there is a new policy against suction cup attachments for phones/GoPro on CX flights.
Any idea what thats about? |

Yes, apparently it is for safety reasons and protection of pax privacy, but in reality can be up to crew/ISM discretion (please correct for those that know more!)
But I didn't know it was applicable for JCL too, I was told about this being applicable to FCL. As much as we share the same hobby I actually welcome this move (I just use my iphone :P ) |

I'm all for folks taking videos inside the cabins...provided they don't take videos of the rest of us who don't like being on candid camera.

I am very poor at taking pictures or filming inside the cabin. Been asked many times to take pictures of the F cabin, anyone know how best to do this?

SP informed me of this on my flight from FRA at the beginning of the month. Was flying F. So I just held my go pro for take off and landing. I record the view of my flights out the window for my autistic godson who loves all things big and mechanical.

Are camera drones allowed?
Imagine that thing zipping around the cabin :) (one day you could even program it to zip to the galley to deliver your drink) :) So anyway i did not know there are such thing as "suction cups". Wonder if this is a new policy to prevent commercial (rather non-private) photography? |
Obviously drones aren’t allowed to be used on board due to the fact they are remote controlled

Some of the smaller ones are BT and that is allowed even during takeoff and landing (headphones) |
Question for blogger / video recorder / picture-taking folks
Out of curiosity, for people who take videos / pictures on planes, is there some kind of generally accepted etiquette regarding privacy of other passengers?
Personally, I'd do almost anything to avoid pictures and/or video being taken of me on a flight. But I also have enjoyed pictures on the internet of various airlines' cabins, from bloggers and others. So I understand the benefit it provides. |
