HELP AA Miles on CX J problem
 

After having J seats for months now...issued last October with AA miles on CX - I get a call today!!! 3 days before departure that the routing is invalid and CX will not allow me to fly.

I booked 2 J seats with the following routing:
AS SEA - LAX
CX LAX - HKG connecting to PEK
CX PEK - HKG with stop over
CX HKG - LAX
AS LAX - SEA

AA said I cannot cross over between two regions meaning Asia 1 & 2 so HKG and PEK.

But they JUST noticed this now after having this booked and ticketed???

What can I do? The Liaison from AA said CX won't allow it and I cannot fly without
more miles 60K per person...when I already paid 110K per person...or buying tickets from HKG to PEK round trip.

Ahh...yes the JOY of the new All Airline Award that is designed to "simplify" our lives. I would think that since you have paid the higher level at 110K for Asia 2, you should be able to get to your final destination in Asia 1 for the price.

Alternatively, why not just go to PEK and forget about HKG for a mere 90K.

Or, if you insist on going to PEK, buy a RT ticket on CX which is now on promotion. They throw in free nights at the Palace too!

Also, CX is offering a discounted redemption for J HKG-PEK at only 25K per person! The best value for Asiamiles in a LONG time.....

I don't have asia miles and that does sound like a good offer...I only have AA miles... since AA is quoting me another 60K per person in miles to get from HKG to PEK.

This is what AA is saying now...YES they agree they screwed up...willing to pay us $400 in vouchers...and keep my ticket as is...but cannot give us anything more...i.e. the dates I originally requested.

Even though I was told as long as there are NO routing changes I could change dates as long as seats are available and this is what I did because seats were available and this threw up all kinds of REd flags..

Ya know Give me a freakin break ....ridiculous!!! They ought to just bite it and go by what they said I could do.

Now they are saying no one else I can talk too...said no one higher than a supervisor....All I ahve asked for us a date change to the route...which was "supposed" to be allowed.

BTW.....I think you should ask at the AA Forum as it deals with AA miles. You might invite more comments from the AA experts on that Forum.....
