CX IT has been through multiple rounds of firings and hirings without reaching a basic level of competence. I doubt that the recent episode will change that.

Three possibilities

1. Yes, CX IT

2. Yes, possible SSSS. (I call it the "grab & grope club")

3. I recently could not complete OLCI for ANA NRT-SFO, despite GE and so on.
However, when I checked in at NRT, the agent managed and funny thing, not only did I get the paper BP, the system now allowed me to get the digital BP for Wallet.

Who really knows.

Not the same error message, but when I went back to the OLCI page after online checking in successfully, I got this error message - [UNABLE_TO_CKI_PAX_COMMENT_EXIST]

Does anyone know what this means? Unable to check in, passenger comment exists..?

Apparently according to the check in agent, the flight was full so they stopped OLCI

I think SSSS means Super Speedy Secondary Screening. It's happened to me a few times and, for me, has always been a great way to jump queue. Helps not to be too sensitive to being grabbed and groped :-/.

I had an issue with OLCI June 1. When I tweeted CX, they said it was an IT issue. That was from MNL-HKG. Checked in this morning from BOS-HKG and there was no problem.

I got this message too: [UNABLE_TO_CKI_PAX_COMMENT_EXIST]. Did you end up getting SSSS? Or is it simply because it is a flight to the US. Has anyone been able to successfully check in online for a flight to the US?

Most of the time it is possible to OLCI for flights to the US. The occasions that are affirmative of SSSS (and has happened to me before) is when after OLCI, the options to get mobile BP/any sort of BP completely disappear, then I know i'm in for a 'treat'.

On my past few flights from HKG to YYZ and back I haven't had any luck for OLCI. Always get the same error message. Not a big deal since checking in at the counter is usually swift, but just more of an annoyance that I can't OLCI.

Oh that's a great data point, thanks! So if you can't check in at all, it's either the system or an issue like document check for your itinerary. But, if you can check-in, but no boarding pass option is given...that's where the SSSS might be more likely to come into play. Thanks so much for this info!
