CX To Use 350 On AKL?

On 9W- their latest J seat isn't as good, but still flat. AI is a cluster.... most of the times, but my missus actually prefers their seat to the SQ 380 J on red-eyes from India- no frills and badly packaged, but a solid product, she says.

And for the DEL/BOM originating traffic, CX isn't necessarily head over heals the first choice (unlike possibly for HKG originating traffic)..and there's reasonable point to point traffic to HKG from these cities. CX does need to compete.

For connecting traffic (seen a fair few to the U.S. And even Oz), CX's competition is with carriers who have a very decent product.

@QRC3288 - think you can get CX J to India for sub HKD15K via GCNanda..

That said, I don't see the 350s heading to the subcontinent...wouldn't they be on the 'long & lean' routes?

Oh my, that's brutal. Regional J is simply terrible for sleeping.

was that not when Colombo was Direct?

CX mid-haul is over 5 hours long
and they all get LH cabins...
CX is NOT SQ...
where short haul is up to 8 hours...

Haven't used Jet before, but colleagues tell me the product in Premiere Class is nice, and Jet has it on the A330-200 they serve to HKG. Plus it's reverse herringbone but only has 3 across in the A330 (vs 4 for CX)...so it sounds like they're flying CX's 77W Cirrus equivalent on the A330. Sweet. Flying back, I really could care less if the food sucks or service is horrible or whatever else. I can just put on the eye shades, pop an Ambien if absolutely necessary and get 3-4 hours of sleep in a flat bed. As long as there aren't shrieking children or a party going on in the cabin, it should do the trick.

Jet are excellent--very much international standard services.

I'm booked on CX198 AKL-HKG on 4th April 2016 and am wondering what the chances of this being the A350 instead of the A340. How far in advance will I be able to know when the A350 will start on this route?

I checked the booking engine and it still shows A343 for April/May 2016 and if you try and look at the on-line timetable it throws up an error for that period.
