D class availability

Hi all,

I am booking a oneworld DONE4. This ticket requires D class availability. I am able to find D class on all but one flight (HKG-AKL, April 20, 2016). Only J class is available. Should I expect D class to become available in the future?

I don't want to pull the trigger unless there is a reasonable expectation that D class will become available as he departure date approaches.

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

Have you looked into connecting at SYD/MEL/PER to get to AKL?

Unfortunately I have no segments to spare - I am using the 16 allotted segments, so I need to go HKG-AKL direct.

D class availability

CX197/20Apr shows J9C2D1.

For more than 1pax, I'd waitlist if possible..

My wait list was rejected because there is no D class availability and no L class availability. The agent says only J and Y are sold on this flight (CX197).

I looked at business class on this flight using ITA. I checked the 15th of every month between now and April 2015. On every date the fare is $5,181 and the class is J. So I guess I should have no expectation that D class seats will ever be offered.

I am puzzled by the J9C2D1 cited above. I thought ITA would show the cheapest fare offered.

BTW, I am looking for two seats.

D class availability

I don't know about this particular route but I'd say in general it would be very, very unusual to sell an entire biz cabin at full J. So at some point over the next ~10 months, D is bound to open. Get an ExpertFlyer subscription and set a flight alert and you'll be among the first to know when it happens...

D class availability

There is a single D class seat available (or atleast was, when I checked). Looking at HKG-AKL fares might not work, if CX is not selling a D fare for the point to point routing.

sub-class availability varies with the originating port... So you rarely see C D I class for HKG-PEK / PVG / SIN but if you are transiting in Hong Kong to PEK / PVG / SIN very likely you can get C D I class fares

IMHO, that is published and filed fares by CX.
CX own discount fare can not be shown on general CRS.

Accoring to CX web/online booking site,
NRT-HKG-AKL-xHKG-NRT has I/D class fare, 248000/327000JPY+TAX+FUEL.
I can find I class avalability for indivisual HKG-AKL segment.
CX197 has I class availability on 11,13,14,15 Jan2016.

would say D class fares are not loaded so far in advance.
say 3-6 months - do you see other D fares?

Only J class, even near term. As Wasabi Tofu suggests, CX may offer D and I fares, but these may not be available on most CRS. The D and I fares do not come up on ITA Matrix and they are not available to the AA RTW desk, even through a long sell.

The OP does not need a D fare - he already has the DONE4. He needs D inventory to book that segment on his itinerary.
