To be honest, I am not sure. I am a DM member so have access to the Wing F regardless. What I am certain about is that <24 hours is how CX denotes a "transit" (vs "stopover") for ticket purposes, and that CX does allow(certain? all?) transit passengers arriving on an F flight transfer to regional J access to the F side, regardless if the departing flight is another day.

Hopefully some other folks on here can chime in to make sure. I'm certain I've seen folks post about this identical issue before.

Maybe this clarifies it:

"First and business class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when traveling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than five hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa)."

this is helpful for OW->OW lounge access, but CX->CX has offers connecting pax slightly more generous rules.

Ahh thanks to those who chimed in. I guess I'll have to wait and see or better yet KA can release a 2nd F seat on the PEK flight and I can switch us to F for the PEK flight for free now that US and AA have merged their mileage programs and make this a none issue.

Worst case is we're forced to check out other lounges at HKG (I've only been in The Wing so probably a good thing but the gf is a fan of the champagne bar so don't want to disappoint)

Okay. So, are you saying that CX is more generous, and would allow The Wing First Class section access even on the second day after 6am?

It seems that this might be the case... there's another FT thread here... potentially up to 24 hours will get you access: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/catha...y-transit.html

For the wing, can the people in J section walk to F section and relax there, such as having a meal, nap and drink?

If they are on F tickets or OWE, of course they can. If they don't qualify for entry, they cannot.

Was your query a trick question?

There is a stanchion blocking off the F section (from the J side) and if you try to go in, the lounge desk people upstairs will ask for your boarding pass to check if you are eligible. So without a valid lounge invite or boarding pass, you can't enter. And the reason there is a stanchion blocking the way is because that's technically the back entrance as the main entrance is next to the immigration on the upper level (level 7).
