CX has stated that while they will fully customize their seats in J, they will choose an "off the shelf" seat for Y+ and Y from the Airbus catalog so I wouldn't be surprised if they choose the seats Qatar currently has on their A350's. The seats Qatar has is the new trend of seats that alot of airlines are starting to use. Examples are:

Singapore Airlines
Emirates

The Y seats CX has now on their 77W's are the one currently on Singapore's early build 77W as well as Qatar's 777's. Also, the current IFE CX uses is Panasonic's eX2 which is the same ones on SQ's early build 77W's and Qatar's 777's. The new eX3 is the new system which I mentioned earlier that Emirates, Singapore and Qatar are using.

I am pretty sure that Aus BT said that the new Y+ seats are NOT catalogue Airbus products. And yes, IFE will definitely be EX3 but i can't see CX adding dual screen handsets in Y or Y+.

So another words the "World's Best Airline" is always a step behind the lkes of Singapore and Emirates... I see....

sure no where near because it is so much ahead CX's :o

Anyway, given CX's recent cutbacks on Y and rumored MPC changes, I am not so sure if CX will be so generous on the A350 Y seats. Would be nice if someone with the correct skills and tools could do a mock up on the seat config and estimate the width and pitch.

Jl better than cx in j product? U kidding me?
Lets see...
Food yes (to jl)
Seat no... (To cx) The walkway to ur seat if u hv any bags makes accessibility retardedly hard
Drinks... A wash
Ife no... Feels like 1980s
Inflight comfort: never. Like in an oven and crew hardly cares about your well being.

Hopefully, the new and current head of product Toby Smith has something nice up his sleeve regarding the new cabin. The new Haneda lounge is just a start too see what he has up his sleeve. (Cathay Boy, no more Solus Chairs! :D)

The former head of product Alex McGowan did a fantastic job with the Business Class seats. Unfortunately, the Cirrus seats are in need of an upgrade as other airlines pretty much have more luxurious and better versions of the seat. Qatar Airways is the perfect example.

I know what you mean, but is a handset REALLY necessary in Y when the screens are 30cm in front of you? Easier to operate via touch screen than fiddle around with a pointless handset. Rushing to add non-value adding extras just because you have deep pockets doesn't make you the best airline in my view.

They don't have a choice for the Y seats. Airbus requires that companies choose a catalog offering for such on the A350s. There are 4 options in the catalog last I checked.

None of them will allow any Tom Larks to install 3-4-3 seating right?

I need width more than pitch. Yes officially I'm obese.

CX seat has way more privacy than QR
QR just has a fancier remote control...
CX cabin is also more pleasant
unlike the colours of QR...

The gaudiness of ME3 is just ridiculous
not to mention
all the other carriers caught up ( except SQ) with CX and have their new cabins on only a few aircraft
meanwhile CX is launching a new product to go further ahead of them...

Today everyone is obese. And yes, don't cheap out on the width.

Thanks for update. In my opinion if CX really wants to be the World's Best Airline they should be trend setters, not followers. Also, don't be fancy without being practical. No matter if it is CX lounges, CX inflight, etc. Whoever is in charge always chooses fancy over practicality. While fancy will give people the wow at first sight, but after awhile frequent traveler will be like "huh, this doesn't make sense". Like the badly designed Cabanas, the horrific Solus Chairs, the badly design PEY seats, and yes, please refresh the seats faster. It's pretty maddening that after paying premium prices I'm seating in a seat filled with tears, with headsets not working, wacky IFE, and worn out cushion.

PE Y

I hope that they put a foot rest at every PE Y+ seats.. as it is not always possible to grab the bulkhead seats everytime and for me that is a true PE Y+ seat like those on TK.

Looking forward indeed to see some revolutionary changes to the seats and services on this new aircraft.

Cheers!

I was actually reading that in article I read yesterday regarding the issue of foot rests on every seat! They seem to listen to feedback given.

http://centreforaviation.com/analysi...ustment-180713

(Read under "Superior premium economy seat to be introduced on A350")

They'll be addressing that as well as seat pitch.
