I guess we all fly for different reasons. You certainly enjoy a more carefree life than I. I usually have a dinner, lunch or meeting booked within 45-75 minutes of landing depending on the airport. I'm not standing around to wait for checked bags. So yea, for me it's worth it.
I'm not worried about my bag getting lost. I just don't feel justified standing around burning extra time waiting for a bag. Totally lost about George Clooney?? As a DM, I have often managed to get out of HK airport transit area 15 -20 min after I step out of the gate. This is because I got a HKID and HK airport baggage transfer is simply one of the best. And because of this, there is NO WAY, I will trolley a 7Kg to 10 Kg bag with me for a couple of hours on every trip. This George Clooney script is taken from the movie "Up In The Air".... http://audio.sg/pic/georgeclooneyquote.jpg (Audio) |

Well, I guess I am blessed with not needing to schedule anything within 2 hours of arrival. I could even arrive one day in advance because company travel is always EY.

For PEK and PVG the earlier you get out the more likely you can grab a taxi, particularly for night departures p.s. I also fly EY for business... But why I always have stuff scheduled within 2 hours of STA.... :( |

That means I don't have to return to the office, nor I need to meet any client. 5 mins to 30 min wait, sitting at baggage claim is nothing. After all, you already a DM, your bags will arrive within 5 mins. Again, no fuss, no rush.... Of late, I find the CX Arrival lounge to be pretty good. I always thought making use of my Arrival pass is a waste of time....Woh!! It's a pretty good place to have a nice hot bowl of noodles or have some fruits. Another good 30 mins to waste. :) (Audio) |
