Some of us LIKE the Solus chairs!! I usually pick them in preference to the sofas (for a variety of reasons).

And while I agree that generally The Wing F isn't a "blow your socks off" experience, I am going to suggest a carve-out for the cabanas, which definitely are.

Was at Wing F on Aug. 3. Used a cabana.

I'm starting to think they shut down Haven because of hot water issues at the Cabanas. I am a frequent Cabanas user and they have some serious hot water issues. One Cabana simply don't have hot water, two others have very low volume of hot water, and one gives you too much hot water that even when you turn cold all the way up the shower is very hot (and I love very hot showers so when I say it's hot it's hot!) I really hope that is fixed.

Someone said Wing is back to normal this Monday, so anybody can observe some major changes?

As for the pathetic cirrus chairs or whatever they are. Yes, most of the time when I'm there those are empty and won't be use unless people are very desperate. It's simply not practical unless you only want to use a ipod and listen to music. For those that prefers to do some work with laptop or even ipad it's very awkward. Even if you want to relax the positioning of the chair is so awkward it doesn't provide good counter-balance for you to soak into and relax.

Possibly SOME but not all cabanas are closed. On Sunday I used the one I am always given, the first one on the right after turning right. There is no hot water problem in that one; however, the air is quite chilly.

Unrelated, but the desk really should have a power outlet that can take european and US plugs. Currently, only the shaver outlet near the sink can, while the desk outlet is the funky British type. Even India refused to follow the British on the matter of power outlets.

Did this happen? Travelling on Thursday (in F) so trying to work out lounge strategy for a couple of hours before CX253.

I'll be entering in 10 minutes, so I'll try to give an update on whether everything is open (and how it is).

Update: the haven and cabanas are both open. I had no wait for either, but I did get here at 0530. No hot water issues in my cabana.

In answer to seeflybuy comment on power sockets ...HKG building regulations prohibit use of any sockets other than HKG / UK standard three square pin.

I've seen the multi-use internatioal outlets in several places. Are they just flauting the rule? (Genuinely curious, not typical FT snark :D)

Yes, they must be. I have raised the issue on a couple of occasions with the relevant parties within CX and they would very much like to install international sockets.

If nobody posts before I get there (in 10 days), I will report. I suspect someone will beat me to the punch on it though! ;)

Not sure. Since I counted 3 people posted they've enter F wing without posting any changes (weird.) But anyway. I suspect it's not a cosmetic change but really under-the-hood changes that they needed to do in such haste and emergency.

Apparently the change is a trap door to prevent anyone from reporting that nothing was changed, except now the cabana hot/cold water problem has been resolved by "enhancing" the water with chocolate pudding.

I'd take a chocolate pudding bath, especially if I earned miles ;)

It's reopened. Was there this morning. They said it was reopened Aug 4th.
Not much difference to me except the lighting is softer, less bright and more like a fine dining setting mood. I believe the chairs seem to be refreshed or new. I was sitting on then sofa so couldn't really tell.
